I am totally with you on that. The Valley is in my DNA. I have been going since 1961 when my Dad took my Brother and I. If we ever leave the Valley I will not go to another ground.

I enjoy a fortnightly trip to see the Valley more than I do watching the current side that plays in it.

The new generation of forum fans won’t understand this.

You had to be an ever present at Selhurst in the 80s to understand what leaving the Valley entails.

I can see why Douchbag would want CAFC out of The Valley, but how would the SMT benefit?

They'd not, perhaps they are thinking of a short term ownership and get promotion, then see where things take them.

As for Mary, Mungo and Midge, they'll not be here long and are rinsing things for what they can.

My view is they don’t benefit in the long term. Short term they have jobs for the boys with big fat salaries. They don’t give a rats about CAFC and it’s foolishness to think otherwise. Take a step back and look in. Looks a bit like CMs Sunderland. Full of bollox and secrecy.

No Charlton fan would ever support the Addicks leaving the Valley.
Anybody of sound mind posting on a forum that leaving the Valley would somehow be better for CAFC than staying is not a Charlton fan.
That isn't my opinion. It's the plain truth.

Anyone lobbying for Charlton to leave their Floyd Road home is either
    1. A pure wind-up merchant
    2. A hostile actor willing to hurt or kill the Club in order to profit themselves
    3. A confused individual who has so badly lost their way that they need some friends to sit them down and have a heart-to-heart chat.

No reason for leaving of any kind can withstand even the simplest cross-examination.
All opinions are welcome here, but the only people I might expect to put any kind of positive spin on Charlton moving home would be the likes of TC enjoying a wind-up, or other less sympathetic fans of rival Clubs.
If a person who believes themselves to be a Charlton fan would like to make an argument here for leaving the Valley, please do so.
It will be the beginning of a unique exchange of views.

Good post on ITTV replying to Seriously Boring.

As you well know one bumper crowd in the first quarter of the season will not give you a fair average , and I’ve been reading your “let’s see where we are “ posts for what seems like years - things have stagnated/deteriorated for some time now. We need money invested improving the squad not gimmicks. The only thing I’ve seen is the Alfie May money being spent on an inferior striker whereas we should of built a team around AM - sorry but present owners/lenders don’t ring true to me - and the SMT are just enjoying the gravy train in my opinion

I predict Aaronaldo will have received the following DM from Charles Hawtrey after Andy’s excellent takedown…

“Ad hominem personal attacks on a former CAST chair person should never be tolerated.

Perhaps we might consider banning the poster in question?”

At the same time there are many who embrace the current direction in terms of revenues predicted to increase by 30%, one of the best defences in the League AND a glimmer of decent football at our last game. That includes six players who are virtually ever present, but if you haven't noted their arrival then that's on you.

The bookies and various xG sites all predict us to finish outside of the play-offs right now, but not a million miles away. Therefore it's clearly all to play for. The squad is what it is for now, AND there's ample opportunity to both coach and buy improvement in time for the run in. For now let's see who plays in these next few games and how they are set out - the League table is so tight that we could be anywhere from 4th to 14th by the end of the month!

IMG_6604.jpeg The latest from ITTV’s Crombie-clad desiccated buzzard.

Apparently we are in with a shot at promotion because Xg sites tell us as much <laugh>

Call me old fashioned, but isn’t it better just to look at the league table ?

An excellent post on Charlton Life tonight about Methven & his handful of forum helpers.

Interesting that Mundell has gone into Silent Mode since the wheels came off Charlie’s caravan :emoticon-0136-giggl

He personally invested more than most in Methven’s podcasts, and laughable theories about breaking even and delivering promotion. As I recall, Mundell was euphoric at the time when James Plodwell announced our pioneering 8-8-8 strategy on Charlton Live.

On that same show I was the only fan who got to call out Andy Scott - almost 12 months ago now - when I put it to Plodwell why Scott hadn’t been personally held to account for his abysmal performance in the role.

“I think that’s very, very unfair” replied the ex Scunthorpe United failure.

The only thing I will say in defence of Mundell is that I do recall, back in the very early days of the ESI take-over, he was one of the first ITTV posters I remember who said something was seriously wrong. And he explained why he thought that (though naturally the details elude me now).

I know looking back most of us don't want to remember even a brief time when we believed Nimer and Southall were going to be good for CAFC.
    But that time did exist.
