Remind me why she's allowed to backseat everything Starmer does, to the point they rolled out the red (Tory) carpet for her at their party conference last month?

And on that subject, such a shame nobody has a video of him saying "Yiddos!" at ledders' testimonial

I can't think why there is so little trust in the British media these days

    No idea whatsoever...

He did this for 8 songs and virtually all of the artists used have specifically criticised him and told him not to use their music.
Ended on November Rain and Axl Rose never stops slagging him off.

Weird story of the day: An undercover police officer spied on Kier Starmer for McDonalds:
    https://www.theguardian.com/politic...pying-on-keir-starmer-when-he-was-a-barrister

If anyone wants to know how we've ended up with so many unmonitored radical, right-wing fruitcakes, this may help explain it.
Those in charge of policing had their officers watching unions and those opposing awful behaviour by corporations.

Interesting that even the Grauniad kicks off the article with 'radical lawyer, Keir Starmer' which is suggesting that the term radical applies to those defending the legal rights of individuals being wrongly pursued by a mighty corporation. <doh>

One of the original claims that McDonald's sued for was that there were corporate spies infiltrating London Greenpeace.
Looks like things were actually worse than that.

So do I....although I am far from rich and rely on the basic State Pension. (The lowest in Europe). The decision is sound enough, but the Government seems to have a serious problem with it's Comms.
There was no need to even raise that as a subject before the budget, by which time they could have thought through the messaging of the safeguarding aspects for the most vulnerable.
And they are poor at defending other actions being planned. The (justified) criticism of P&O for example by the Minister would have been easy to manage: "Yes, the actions of the company in 2022 and before were dreadful, but we are confident that with the changes made by the company in the past 2 years allied to our new employment legislation means that the UK & P&O can now develop a positive working relationship."
    It's really not hard...<doh>

I think the issue is that Government is harder than it looks. Starmer never even held a ministerial position before PM and has very few cabinet members who have. The press always gives a new Tory Government a free ride and goes for the jugular of a Labour one.

    This is so true.
Unfortunately, the Tories are the natural party of government in this country. Labour only get elected when they are Tory-lite. This government has yet to do anything meaningful, but the right wing media will not take a backward step in blaming them for all the unresolved Tory f***-ups they have inherited. The problem with Starmer is he knows that he cannot be radical in his policies. He can only shift the dial marginally. And given the state this country is in now, that will make little difference.

It's not helped by how it looks uncannily like the assumption was that winning an election would make Starmer & Co if not loved, at least given a grudging respect

Instead what happened was people rapidly realised that the more that people saw Starmer, the more they couldn't trust him - let alone stand him

...anyway, back to the Trump campaign

Of course, he added a digit to the number of attendees and hoped nobody would check

He is only the 4th Labour leader out of 19 to win a majority of seats in an election so I think he deserves some respect. But given the current political make up of the electorate about twice as many people will dislike him as like him because about 40% see him as socialist whereas most socialists see him as right wing and about a third of centrists prefer Ed Davey. As I've said before, I prefer a more left wing government but there is never going to be one.

Did he win those seats, or did the Tories lose them?

The likes of Ashworth and Debbonaire losing their seats during a landslide victory, with Streeting and Phillips coming close too, indicates the latter was far more likely

Anyone keen to attack Starmer and Labours actions since coming to Government 100 days or so, should maybe move on from Taylor Swift blue lights trivia and focus on why they aren't condemning and continuing to arm Israel through this daily ongoing genocide. Spain, France, Ireland and many others can manage it!
And MSM of all persuasions in the UK is complicit in muffling this particular story. WTF is going on?

It turns out that there's a connection between the two

Who could have possible guessed that Starmer's flat refusal to stop selling arms to Israel in commons last week is related to financial interests...?
