Add in the millions to pay off sacked managers and there is your answer. If you accept mid table with the occasional cup win, yea, you are correct. A stable club.

Ps they have just "sacked" Sir Fergie, saving 2 million a year. As well as another 250 staff. Gotta love stability.

I didn't say a stable club. Just asking an honest question. Ten Haag has been in charge for nearly 2 1/2 years, and been given 5 transfer windows to date. That's relative stability in terms of the coach. As you mention, they have been slowly but surely clearing things up behind the scenes so to speak. So, why are they still referred to as a basket case / nut job of a club? (btw, I have no real opinion, just wondering)

The owners probably. Personal piggy bank for the Glazers. Old Trafford by all accounts is a dump. And the best central defender on their books is a month away from his pension. Though I admire the sporting gesture by referees to let Jonny Evans park his zimmer frame behind the goal. And they have made the biggest fanny in world football, captain.

Eight managers, including fill-ins, since Sir Fergie. Some 11 years. Trophy wise the best of those was Mourinho and he was sacked.

Basket case or nut job? Not really bothered. It is fookin hilarious.

Apart from the fact he’s German, he’s the best of the 3 names previously mentioned in my opinion.

Sorry, not intentionally ignoring you since you asked me the question in the first place, but just got back in.

I aren’t that bothered, but work with an Old Trafford season ticket holder so hear a lot about it. For me broadly I think it just feels a bit ‘off’. This seems a decent explainer (if you’re sufficiently bothered!):

    https://www.espn.co.uk/football/sto...gone-wrong-manchester-united-glazer-ownership

TLDR version - Asterix is right, it’s the Glazers, basically, but it’s still ongoing since Ratcliffe’s arrival - if you read any of the many press articles in the last few weeks about McTominay’s move to Napoli you’ll be left shaking your head. Essentially it appears symptomatic of a club run by, and for, accountants.

It's done now,no point griping about it...Hopefully he can give us something different in terms of what's been dished up lately.

We've got some top drawer players and if someone can get it to work, the sky's the limit.

    I wish him well.

The great United States of America will welcome to its shores the brightest prospects from any country in the world because brains equal a great future while stuck in stereotypes and historical mind-conditioning illustrates a xenophobic regressive thought process. May we have great success with the new manager. If the guy came from a Hottentot Kalahari Bush people tribe or from a blubber eating Eskimo tribe from Tukteyuktuck its all the same to me if he can get the best out of our players. Portugal have a Spaniard, RoI have an Icelander. MEGA - Make England Great Again

Putting nationality to one side. It's probably deserved recognition for being the man to break Bayern's 11 year title winning streak.

Leverkusen are crazy for letting him go.

There are two camps on this - those who believe the England manager should be English and the wrong one.

I suppose it depends if you want an English manager or if you want to actually win something

Not the German I wanted but a better option than any of the English candidates I think. Good luck to him
