Spurs lost their advantage over us last night when they lost their game in hand against Blackpool and they have a run of hard games and Chelsea's league form is erratic even though I'm convinced they will beat the scum at Stamford Bridge next tuesday.Which means I think that we have a chance be it an outside chance of finishing in the top four. What do you guys think?
8 points with 11 games to go is achievable, providing we go on an insane run of form and they start getting distracted from the CL. If Chavski win their game in hand we'll be 9 points behind them, looks too far a gap to make up now but next season will look very good if we can get a bit of investment in the summer.
Investment, now thats a key word.Jamie Carragher said it could take a few years for us to get back to our 2009 level.I reckon he's just dampening our expectations to ensure we're not disappointed. I think we're not as far behind as some would think especially if Kenny gets the job, because Kenny signs players in the correct way.He signs players for positions and not based on reputations or whether they are household names or because other clubs want them ie ''If you can't beat him, sign him''. There is going to have to be departures, however there won't be much disruption as the departures will be fringe players.I do think however that there will be a series of arrivals. But only in the areas that need strengthening. Can we be crowned Champions in the next two years,I cannot see why not.Money doesn't gaurantee succsess, spending it wisely does,If Kenny strengthens us to the extent that we're powerful in all areas, which I reckon he will, then that dream will become a reality.
since when could you read 2 years into the future? if so can you please tell me who shall receive the golden boot in the next 2 seasons so i may place a wager and while your at it what day will peopled realise that wilshire is hugely overrated just because he is english?
I'm amazed that you've managed to reach 6th with your current squad. The reason you're on a good run is because you've had some very easy games recently with the exception of Chelsea away. I can see you just finishing in the top half this season with the games you still have to play.
Man United fans commenting on the Liverpool board. The same Man United with their ''world class'' midfield, that was so world class last night that it was devoid of ideas until they put on 37 year old Paul Scholes on.Europes elite is trembling in its boots at the thoughts of facing Darren ''If I can't beat him,I'll kick lumps out of him'' Fletcher ,.Michael ''Farts move faster than me'' Carrick'' and Darron ''I'm not good enough for Rochdale'' Gibson and not forgetting Anderson whose only talent is to consistently pass the ball to the opposition.Liverpools biggest problem at the moment is they haven't spent money on their squad in the last 2 years, when they do expect them to wipe the floor with Man United. Before Man United mention their wonderful youth set up,well you have to watch Darron Gibson to see how poor it actually is.The proof of the pudding is when Liverpools youths face Man United in the next round of the youth cup, when Raheem Sterling on his own takes them apart. He won't beat them,or torture them,he'll singlehandedly destroy them.
Considering our level of spending since 2008,6th is realistically where we should finish,as we are currently ã42 million in the black when it comes it incomings and outgoings.Only Arsenal can match that.Liverpool are currently ã170 million behind Spurs when it comes to squad spending.ã270 million behind Man City. The balance is going to change when Daniel Levy pulls the plug on Spurs and insists 'Arry sells to buy and the same happens to City because of the rule changes. When Kenny signs the players we need and he has already identified our weaknesses in the squad. Then things are going to seriously change and City and Spurs will be firmly put in their place.
All complete rubbish. It's been proven time and again, even by pro-Liverpool websites, that Liverpool outspent the majority of Premiership teams yet you lot still ignore the facts.
In all seriousness, I honestly think that Liverpool will maintain that 4th spot this season. Good luck guys.
I didn't know that there were people as ignorant as you in the world. He's talking about net spend obviously. We have a negative net spend, especially after the sale of Torres. Liverpool since Season 08/09 = -ã7,550,000 In contrast to.. Manchester city since Season 08/09 = ã363,900,000 Chelsea since Season 08/09 = ã94,000,000 Spurs since Season 08/09 = ã37,450,000 The only reason Man United and Arsenal came out with Minus numbers was because of the inflated price of Christiano Ronaldo who wasn't worth 80m at all, and 25m for Adebayor. Proof: http://www.transferleague.co.uk/
The usual excuse of not including the sale of Ronaldo for no reason. Maybe I could discount the sale of certain Liverpool players to make your spending look worse There have been several times that Liverpool's net spend has shown to be one of the highest in the league yet you lot ignore it every time.
I've just proved you wrong, but you continue on with the same ****? Holy crap, I'm arguing with an imbecile. Since 2008 we have made a net loss, whilst teams like Man city and Spurs have had a massive net spend, and people wonder why we've dropped down the rankings?
Liverpool haven't outspent the majority of the premiership, that is pure and utter rubbish. In terms of spending since 2008 Liverpool are 10th in the league if not lower. Liverpool haven't net spent on players since January 2008.They since then have been in the minus side.Since January 2009 Liverpool have spent ã115 million on players and have recouped ã158 million in sales. Now explain to me intelligently how that is outspending the league, without being blinkered.Man United have spent ã10 million a year alone on Howard Webb.
Finally a Man United fan that admits that Ferguson buys referees,How much did Swear Exlax pay for Rob Styles,Alan Wiley and Steve Bentref, and how much did he pay Manc Riley over the years.
