CPS handed Terry racism file

With the news that the police have handed a file to the CPS regarding your captain's racist assault on a black player, do you think that it would be in your team's best interests for Terry to be "rested" until this whole ugly affair has been settled, one way or the other?

For those unfamiliar with the way this works, the police only refer a matter to the CPS if they believe there is a charge to answer. Therefore, there is a real likelihood that Terry could find himself up before the beak, at the conclusion of a very long and drawn-out legal process, with all the distraction that that will entail. If found guilty, there is a remote chance that he could find himself in prison. And even if all he receives is a fine, how would you guys feel about having a convicted racist, not only playing in your squad, but as your captain?

This is not a wum article, but a serious attempt to pose some very difficult questions.

 

Having a file sent to the CPS does not make one guilty! and its our captains alleged racist remarks and not an assault. As anybody is innocent until proven guilty there is no need for him to be rested. I have quite a lot of experience in this field and in all likelihood this case has all the hallmarks of being dropped due to the plethora of witnesses and counter witnesses.

As a guest on this board you should in future be careful on making stupid slanderous comments as this is likely to end with you being verbally attacked and possibly banned.

 

100% disagree. Liverpool wont rest Suarez for the same reason, innocent until proven otherwise.

Anyway it's a difficult subject but I think to suddenly label someone a 'racist' for (allegedly) making a one off comment in the heat of battle is a bit much. Racists don't tend to have black friends for instance (which Terry does) but I guess that doesn't fit in with your and the Daily Mail's agenda.

I for one will still be happy for him to play for us and be captain much the same way you probably are re Ledley King.

i can bet my house on the fact that if it was ledley King or any other player having made such comment allegedly then you same people who are belittling the OP would agree with such a sentiment if someone else made it with regards to any player but your own

I disagree that my comment is either stupid or slanderous. Whether or not I believe Terry to be a racist is my opinion, and I cannot be censured for expressing my opinion, as much as my opinion may be unpalatable to you.

Being "verbally attacked" does not worry me in the slightest. I expect it of those who lack the ability to hold a sensible debate and/or the courage to address difficult questions.

Yes you are entitled to hold an opinion that John Terry is a racist but you will not share that opinion on this board until he is found guilty because that is libel. Furthermore if your only objective is to visit this board to cause disruption you will be removed. This will be your last chance as I have had countless pm's asking for you to be banned from this board. The choice is yours!

 

Ginge--this Spud has spent a fair amount of his time this past fortnight, targeting our board, almost certainly because for the first time in his life he can see them above us in the table and he's got over-excited about his opportunity to wind us up over it! He has forgotten the season is only just over a quarter way through! There are decent non-blues who visit us to have a bit of interesting banter and I welcome them. This guy however is the proverbial pain in the ass!! If he disappears -I for one will not miss him!

Piskie and i had him ****ed off from our board and he's also banned from the Liverpool board.I think he hanging around here looking for friends

 

I say us blues have a vote to rid this vermin from our board, all those in favour say AYE

 

Just ask Ginge or SW6 to get Syd to ban him

 

I think they're giving him one last chance but I'm sure a lot of us wouldn't mind never seeing him on here again
