Liam Cooper is also back in the fold after his season-long loan with Huddersfield was terminated yesterday following a lack of opportunities.

According to NB: "It's not a case of us spitting our dummy out because he's not been playing.

"You want your young players to go out and get experience by playing, but unfortunately for Coops he's been at a club where it's difficult to get in the team.

"He's only had a few minutes here and there so it's best for all parties that he came back here. He comes into contention for us now."

as much as I think cooper is decent and has potential, my first thought when I saw this on twitter was how having another CB it might effect the sale of james chester in january.

    I wasn't very clear was I? sorry.

there's been talk on other threads about chester being our most saleable asset and having cooper back, if he shows well for NB, would that make the sale of chester more of a possibility??

Unless a team bids millions and I would think near to 5 million, I dont think Chester will be leaving any time soon

2 million and Chester would be gone, we would snap their hands off.

I think if someone offers 3 million he'll definitely be going. We would have made 10x our money, then we can buy Billy Sharp and maybe get Phil Jones or Chris Smalling on loan off Man U.

Nope. Selling James Chester is not an option and neither he nor his Dad wants him to leave. End of.

ffs. PB must have been on the whiskey.

Would have made more sense to have McShane and Hobbs as CBs with Chester sweeping behind them. Would also stop Chester's lack of height being exploited by giant strikers (or centrebacks at set pieces) as he'd be the spare man.

I think Papa would think twice at £3m, but would leave it to AP/NB to say yay or nay; then think some more and if it was nay, he would concur.

Though Liam no longer has to go to train at Huddersfield, due to his loan being terminated, his registration remains with them until the end of the loan period, so he can't play for us until January(he just tweeted).

Well that was rather stupid of him wasn't it <laugh>

I suppose he wanted to train in front of NB in the hope of impressing. He'll struggle to get ahead of Chester or Hobbs though. Definitely should be 3rd choice CB ahead of McShane.
