I can't believe I actually spent time reading that ****.

It's no more of an exclusive than his usual opinion pieces he thinks are newsworthy.

Oh woe is us, we get a new stadium instead of a bigger St James'

Long as its one of the best stadiums in the country, nah, on the continent, we should be happy

Don't read anything into it. It's a Luke special exclusive and the jist is this.

NUFC are looking into the possibility of building a new stadium in the city centre or remodelling St James' Park (So not in anyway an exclusive)

They are looking at sites including Leazes Park and the entire surrounding area (No **** Luke? Again not an exclusive)

One thing that was pointed out over 5 years ago was the re-routing of of Barrack road (Again not an exclusive Luke)

He's then said that 2 stadiums may be built :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl: (****ing Divvy got the wrong end of the plans that were shown on youtube with them building 3/4 of new stadium before reverse engineering the Leazes End)

you have to also factor in the revenue stream from rock concerts, England games et and also job creation. It’s a no brainier to move a few hundred meters away to get our stadium future proof.

The proposal by someone to mostly build the stadium at the Leazes park end then demolish the current stadium and complete the new one thus not having to play elsewhere then making the current stadium into an extended Leazes park nicely opening up the frontage to Leazes terrace is popular but some seem to take the statement “building on Leazes park “ as a sign that the new stadium would take up the whole of that park. Clearly that isn’t true but it would be interesting to see actual figures as to how much “park” area would actually be lost and how much “new park area would be gained to offset that. Bearing in mind how attractive it would be opening up the frontage to Leazes terrace and hopefully some significant investment made by the club in the old part of Leazes park. Overall it could be a win win situation really but without actual figures to assess no one can really tell.

Upgrading a lot I would say but that’s my point. Area wise would they lose much with this proposal and would that be suitably compensated by refurbishing the current remaining area and the attractive new section at St. James.

Whatever happens it'll be better than what's there Today. All the people bleating on about heritage ? Don't they realise there was something there before the park?

If Leazes park and the arena are no go's, they could just build it on the gold course on Nun's Moor. There's another 3 or 4 courses not far from there anyway.

If I was guessing, with the RB property portfolio, money in hotels, real estate, etc, a town centre renovation and shift into Leazes would seem most likely.

Whatever they do will at least bring Newcastle in line with best standard in Europe and it'll be so far down the line it's barely worth thinking about now I suppose.

The news will be a boost though and will reinforce belief in the aims of the club.

We should hire Mbappe on a 5-year contract as a consultant on the new stadium and pass it off as part of the new stadium costs, so not a PSR cost - its what Man City would do.

Yeah, if it was me I'd employ a team of designers for a feasibility study, whilst their balls deep into it, it I'd then approach every property owner on the boundaries of a large, unused waste ground area, and ask if they'd be interested in selling up. I'd then let them market property and businesses for "testing the market purposes" before offering market value, building a brand new, increased capacity, state of the art, 60,000 seater stadium with glorious executive boxes and hospitality suites on all 4 sides of the ground before declaring "memberships for ballots are now £200 a year" <laugh>
