Well a letter has been sent out to all Gillingham shareholders to have an Extraordinary General Meeting on 10th October 2024. The reason? To pass a vote for the immediate removal of Paul Damien Phillip Scally as director of Gillingham Football Club.

The 29 year association looks soon to be over.

Yeah I did see something about this on twitter, didn't know the date though. Think it's time, we need to move into a new chapter, although don't know if we owe him any money from past loans, hopefully nothing comes out to muddy the waters and it's a amicable breaking of ties. At least then the Galinsons can move forward without any shadows trying to claim pieces of the pie IF we do well.

As an aside to all this, anyone know how much TV money the club receive as part of this new SKY deal?

brb - I believe that ALL League 2 clubs get £300,000 from the TV deal -- but I don't think ((( not sure ))), if it's a one-off payment during the current contract.... I believe that I wasn't overly impressed when announced - so - I suspect the figure is a one-time payment.

brb (( you lazy so-and-so )) - just searched - the TV deal is for 5 years and the £300,000 is per season...... which, in the long run probably just about cover the potential loss of gate money.

did they say if it was paid up front for the loss of revenue and does this also account for the loss of pie sales? <whistle>

Now I don't have this as fact so I want to stipulate that this is pure speculation however the below was posted on the Kent Online article comment section with regards to the former chairman:

"There is a rumour circulating that HMRC are carrying out an investigation into possible COVID furlough fraud."

I have also seen another rumour stated on another Gills forum of the former chairman slagging off the current owners to directors of Crewe at an Away game last season calling them "stupid americans" and that he'd "soon get the club back once they've had enough". Now again I want to confirm it is only speculation, however both do lead to areas of concern and do perhaps lend weight to the timing of all of this.

I remember getting a little bit of stick on twitter when I heard a certain person was still on the books, got accused of being negative lol - I reminded them that I was NOT the one ever giving him abuse or speaking ill of him, nontheless I stood by what I said.

The quicker he is off our payroll the better in my honest opinion - I'm one hundred percent behind our new owners without hesitation and they need a clean sweep, be glad when this business is finally dealt with, although I'm not convinced he will go quietly.

Yup this new chapter could all end in tears, like a lot of new takeovers in the past at other clubs, but I'm happy for us to take our chances and I/we really do not need a chaperone clinging on to our purse strings no matter how minor their current participation in the club.

There's the door, it's time to LEAVE.

I have defended Scally many times over the years and really hope he leaves quietly.
If he is owed any money it is paid quickly. So he can leave with head high. Really want to focus on the first 15 years rather than the last 10 when it got sour.
If however he decides that he still wants more he will disgruntle all the fans further.
I would like to remember him as saving the club and best times ever had as a supporter. Not the last 5+ years he was chairman and almost run it to the ground

So - gioblues -- which is it.... the last 5 years, or the 10 that you first mentioned ?.....either way it seemed a lot longer....and the toxicity has only just been surpassed by that which the Labour Government has created for itself......any pensioner still alive in 5 years won't have forgotten the breath-taking arrogance and the hypocrisy.....and - for once, I'm not talking about Mr. Scally

Yes, I do..... my only redeeming qualities are my honesty and transparency -- doesn't always win friends when I speak painful truth - but - I particularly hate deceit and hypocrisy.

Sadly I think the previous owner has created too much bad feeling for way too long now and it easily goes back 10 years. Although from a personal opinion I'm not sure he was always to blame, but his handling of social media sometimes left me with my head in hands shouting no, no, no quietly to myself. I think it's an age thing, we all make the same mistakes at some point and learn from them, but that's the crux here, learning from them! Look at the way Brad and Shannon handle social media and it's done professionally. Yes, I accept the person in question received a lot of unacceptable abuse and has a right to reply. But it's measuring that in some sort of quantity and in the manner the replies come...from my point of view looking from the outside it was handled badly, very badly, which goes to show in todays world it helps to spend on good PR or professional help around you, cut corners leads to bad outcomes in the business of football....hey but what do I know. Brad and Shannon are way more savvy on that front.

    @JoeComper

Thought I’d post some photos of refurbishments of the shop, players lounge, exec boxes and screens in the kiosks. Apologies I don’t have any photos of the new roof, upgraded gantry, coaches offices and changing rooms, also done in the last 12 months. See you Thursday

Think its fair to say the fans forum could turn into bit of a knees up at his removal.

    I’d rather be a ‘cancer’ than a hypocrite….which one are you ?

Who is currently more hated – Scally or Starmer ? – both have fallen out of favour with their fans…. Both have done not a lot other than take, take, take.

Scally came to power 29 years ago – with all sorts of promises…He has only spent one £1 of his own money on GFC – but has taken £ Millions in ‘consultancy’ fees….and has avoided paying tax by becoming an exile in Dubai – using my money ( and your money ), that we spend with Gillingham Football Club – money on which you have paid tax. ( but Mr. Scally didn’t break any rules.)……. Starmer will avoid paying tax on his £ Million pension (( but- that’s OK – it’s within the rules !! ))…

Scally has been accused of using GFC as a ‘cash cow’ – and extracting considerable urine as well as ‘milk’ out of the cows.. Moooo, Moooo. I think that Starmer is doing a fantastic job of taking milk, urine and double-top cream from us cash cows – Mooo, Mooo. – and some of the older cattle amongst us will be too weak and cold to bleat this winter.

Scally has used his business ‘expertise’ to attract income from many cash cows over the last 29 years – and quietly manipulated ownership of his herd – to become – not only a Dictator – but to ensure that He also owned the farm -on which he would have no problem in getting permission to build many, many lucrative new ‘stables ’ ( with bedrooms and en suites )… Scally literary cannot lose – even if he gets kicked off the Board…

Starmer has used his Political ‘expertise’ to take over £100,000 in ‘freebies’ – on top of his salary and ‘expenses’ – We learn that Starmer has failed to declare many £thousands of those freebies ( how many more? )-and not paid tax…. Remind me – how much has Scally taken- including expenses – and not paid tax ?... all a bit too hypocritical for my liking.

Of course – if you complain about Starmer ( or merely shout at a Police dog ) you will be put in prison – but if, as a man of 34 years, you rape a 13yr old girl you won’t go to jail !.....and if you’ve been in prison for 3 or 4 minutes for (even) serious crimes, you’ll be released – to inflict more misery………

    ….At least Mr. Scally only uses his charm when responding to complainants – he calls them ‘ C A N C E R. ’

Starmer is also trying to manipulate the rules – so that he can rig the votes for Labour to remain in power – forever….. How much time does he really need to financially cripple the Nation ( or shall we call it his cash cow ? ) – He’s well on the way to ruining things in only a few weeks in the job…… but – unlike Scally, I don’t think that Starmer will get a second term to kill the cash cow !......

Oh – did you think that Mr. Scally won’t ever again own Priestfield Farm ??? – think again !

What is this prospect of further doom and gloom ? – Well – if ((( and I sincerely hope never ))) the Gallinson’s get so pee’d off with the impending fallout of what Hurricane Scally will bring to his removal from the Board – or if for any other reason ( possibly, even footballing reasons ), Brad decides to ‘ sell up’ – then he (Brad), could easily turn things into a housing estate – or sell Gillingham Football Club to Scally - who will really slaughter the cow.

Scally has no Divine Right to be a member of the Board - Scally is merely a shareholder - unfortunately one whose 30% still enables him to have some 'control' over the destiny of the milk from the cow.

…. On that cheery note I shall bid you farewell – I need to pack my suitcase – after the Accrington game, my family go to Heathrow – to spend 3 weeks in…. Florida !... Hurricane Milton will be heading your way across the Atlantic – and less damaging than Storm Scally. (( don’t worry – we’ll still watch the Gills games – live ! ))

Scally v Starmer ? – a bore draw – to be avoided at all costs….sorry – too late – the costs just keep piling up !

So –goodbye from this carcinogenic ( cancerous ) person !... ( I’d hate to be considered a hypocrite. )

@alwaysright enjoy your family holiday. I always use to go out there late October time, generally the best weather I found. Yeah always the risk of hurricanes as we've seen, but hopefully now this one is out the way things should calm down. It came in as a Cat 3 in the end (120mph) so thanfully not as bad as first thought.

In regards to our past chairman I had noted in the Mirror comments about how he hadn't been to a game, hang on let me quote him for accuracy, it's part quote: '“I haven’t been to a game this season. I’ve been completely isolated from the club.' see the press release for the full version - my thoughts to that were it didn't seem to bother him when he was residing in Dubai.

Sadly for him, probably due to age, he never has handled social media well and I felt it was that lack of handling that contributed towards many of his problems. As I often said he needs a PA or advisor who knows how best to handle modern digital communications, you can probably notice I'm trying to be polite here....if he did have an advisor then they did a terrible job when words such as cancer gets mentioned, regardless of what context it was said in, and for that alone I cannot forgive him.

Anyway time for a sing song...
