Sorry for absence, I’ve got a few family issues going on at the moment with an unwell parent so things are pretty flat out. Hoping Frankel can get a much needed 1st G1 winner of the year on board on Sunday. I mean with the odds this much in his favour, you’d like to think it was a nailed on certainty!
Briefest of updates from me, and hoping normal service will be resumed shortly! Thankfully Lake Victoria got that much needed G1 win on the board, and duly obliged with a second one over the weekend. These big wins, combined with The Euphrates win in the Irish Cesarewitch, has seen Frankel rocket up the GB/IRE Sire standings and he now sits in 3rd place behind Galileo and Dubawi. However, with just £150,000 difference between the top 4 in the chart it is going to be a tight race and will likely be settled on Champions Day.

Also, Tattersalls October Book 1 gets underway at 11am. There are a number of impeccably bred Frankel yearlings on offer, none more so than the full-sister to Arc winner Alpinista. She’s, understandably, the talk of the town and fully expected to top the sale with some people saying she could even break the European record (5 million). I’d expect her to go through the ring around 2.30/3pm-ish
Lot 14 was a withdrawal too so the first one in the ring (Lot 23) goes for 480,000gns to Blandford Bloodstock.
(Edited to add in buyer ID) Lot 49 goes for 750,000gns to Yulong. They're getting through lots at a rate of about 25 per hour, so I think it'll be about 2pm-ish for the Alpinista sister.
Lot 72 goes for 2.5million, again to Amo Racing, which perversely feels like a disappointment after Lot 68!
I bet you a pint and a bag of salt and vinegar crisps she won’t pay that back on the racetrack and in the breeding sheds combined. Silly money.
Just catching up on the last two from today: Lot 109 - 460,000 to Yulong Lot 119 - 300,000 to Charlie Gordon-Watson 5 more sell tomorrow, including the full brother to Hurricane Lane.
