Not sure if common in rest of the EU but had a coffee in a cafe bar in Bremen daytime everyone was smoking inside ! It was ‘orrible !! That probably helps the bar
Germany is one of the heaviest smoking nations. Unlike here younger people smoke a lot whilst oldies don’t. Smoking laws vary from state to state. Bavaria is one of the strictest. It explains it on here and will probably explain why people were smoking in the bar you were in. https://www.iamexpat.de/expat-info/german-expat-news/smoking-and-smoking-laws-germany On the other hand you can go in certain cafe bars in Amsterdam and have a spliff but if you want a cigarette you have to go outside. I don’t smoke, stopped in 2002 but would rather go in an atmospheric smokey bar in Bremen than some of our sterile pubs. Each to their own.
It doesn’t help when you have Mehlem pressing like he’s playing in a prime Klopp team followed by Bedia who is just slowly trying to cut off angles. Then you have a half-hearted press behind that from our midfielders and our wide men are happy for their defenders to run beyond them. Behind that you have a defence lacking in speed pressed up so high to invite a ball in behind. All in all it’s just a mess.
Careful. Someone will be asking what is a normal bloke in your opinion and accusing you of various isms and phobias.
I'd rather drink real ale in a sterile pub than go in any smokey bar. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
With the rise of vaping I've grown to appreciate cigarette smoke a lot more. Also reminds me of my student days
