Good Morning. It's Tuesday 8th October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Listen boss, I’ve never seen something like this!!!

Reliving the moment Sunderland equalised will live with Illan Meslier for a long time. Over his five year tenure, the Frenchman has became susceptible to the odd faux pas, but nothing on the scale of what we witnessed at the Stadium of Light.

Whilst Junior Firpo charged down the players tunnel in disgust, Pascal Struijk leapt to Meslier's defence insisting he had never seen an incident where a ball changed trajectory to the degree it did on Friday evening. Recounting the discussion with his skipper, Farke stated:-

Pascal Struijk came over and said, ‘Listen boss, I’ve never seen something like this’,” “The ball bounced and jumped in the other direction. From the pitch, there was a mark and the ball bumped in a different direction. I cannot tell you if that was the case because I wasn’t on the pitch and I haven’t watched the footage. But Pascal is in the best position to see this.

“If it was like that, it’s unbelievably unlucky and I would struggle to find an explanation of how this ball could go in. You don’t have to talk to Illan — he is the most upset player in the dressing room. He is more or less in tears, so you just give him a hug and leave him alone. He doesn’t need to hear anything. We can speak about this in a few days.

“My feeling after such an equaliser is that we’ve done everything right, so you just want to go and not speak to them (the players). But they need leadership — I can’t leave them alone because I’m hurting myself. I have to be there and give a hug to Illan in the dressing room, to give the first messages that they judge the game in the right way. They are young boys and I can’t send them away — some of them for two weeks — without talking about this. I used encouraging words.

“Football is the same as in life: that right now the feeling is that everything that can go against you is there. And when you think you have reached a turning point, there’s another sucker punch. But you have to keep going, not lose your trust, your belief and your good heart.”

How would Farke's current crop of players have faired in last seasons Championship?

Leeds came within touching distance of promotion last season in what has been suggested the toughest Championship season for years. Ordinarily, ninety points would have been good enough, but for super human performances from Leicester City and Ipswich Town, with over 20% of their goals coming in the last eight minutes of the games.

It wasn't just the top two that were stronger. The chasing pack were never far behind, and provided much stiffer competition that what we are seeing this time around. Undoubtedly, last seasons Championship was a lot tougher, but how would Farke's current crop of players (bearing in mind their performances so far) have faired in last seasons Championship?

Frankfurt set to activate Kristensen clause

Eintracht Frankfurt are preparing to activate a clause in Rasmus Kristensen's contract to make his stay permanent according to respected Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.

Kristensen, 27 joined the Bundesliga outfit during the Summer on a season long long, but have a €10-12m (£8.4m-£10m activation clause. The versatile defender has had a strong start to the season, starting all six games (alongside Robin Koch) and has a 'Whoscored' rating of 6.81, placing him fifth in the Frankfurt ranks.

He said: “Frankfurt want to sign Rasmus Kristensen on a permanent deal. Already decided as SGE bosses are totally satisfied with the 27yo. Eintracht want to trigger option to buy of €10-12m (£8.4m-£10m).”

Morning all. I see the odd comment about death threats being made against Meslier. I don't believe it for one minute as haven't seen a screenshot of such a post. If true though the culprit needs to be spend some time away from society in a nice cosy cell

    Morning Leeds fans.

If what Eire says is true it's disgusting (and frankly, we know there are idiots who would do this). Not sure if the international break is a good thing in this case, it might have been better for him to get straight back on the horse and try to forget it. Now he's got an extra week to deal with it. Hope he can get through this because we've got no one better.

And as for Kristensen, snap their arm off I'm surprised we're getting any money for him.

    Morning all

If Meslier has received death threats then those doing so are in the same scum bucket as those who did similar with Bamford

Also what we have to remember if true, that threats have been made to players and owners before by idiots pretending to support a particular club only to be revealed as a fan of a rival.
