As the Ancient Prophet Kevin of Wafflelus often declares “ let’s see where we are after ten games”.

In our case - 8th in the table.

    5 wins
    4 losses
    1 draw

Positives from our opening 10 games-

The form of Ramsay, Mitchell, Jones, and to a lesser extent Godden & Mannion.

    The forced abandonment of 3-5-2

Not being in the bottom half of the table, as we normally are at this stage.

    Negatives so far-

The form of Small and Ahadme. The lack of impact of most of the Luton signings and Docherty.

The style of football, and lack of entertainment.

The feeling that we will once again come up short this season.

    Jones’ ridiculous behaviour at times.

Well if the season ended today we’d be outside of the playoffs (albeit on goal difference) which should be seen as a failure.

Do you think he has abandoned 3-5-2 or just taken a mini break from it?

I think we need another 10 games :emoticon-0100-smile

It would be bizarre for NJ to revert to 3-5-2 again, given how much more fluid we looked on Saturday.

    1.6 points per game.
    Extrapolates to 74 points.
Enough for 6th place some seasons, not enough in others.

Better than 2023-24, but then a cub scouts under 10's team could do better than Charlton did last season.
    There is hope I suppose.
A moderate improvement might earn us a play-off place.
But could we win through to a Wembley Final?
    I don't think so.

And I have no faith in a January window. Not after all the BS this Summer just gone.
If we still have NJ by May 2025 and we do finish in the top 8 we will have found some stability at least. But that's scant reward.
Stability should be the absolute minimum to build from. Not a target in itself.

If the owners are serious about promotion, which I doubt. The January window will be interesting. If we are around the Play offs will they push the boat out and get us the creative midfielder we are crying out for? Or will they sit on their hands and do nothing. I really hope Jones sticks with the current formation. But he is very stubborn and could go back to kickball.

We have lost 40% of our league games to date, but are still in contention.

I've heard there's a curious niche forum where they specialise in such things.
But I'm not sure it's true.

You can almost feel Global’s frustration over on ITTV.

His favourite days on our sister forum coincided with the muck & bullets flying.

Global is more at home with the 606 posters, than the tedious anoraks on ITTV who post the same stuff every day.

It is dull on there now. Apart from 1-2 posters, everyone agrees with each other.

A forum only flies when you have a wide talent pool of posters, expressing differing views.

I’d give our start to the season 6.5/10.
