I too hope Ange is given time to sort this, he truly looked a very p***** off bloke at the post-match interviews. However, you can almost feel Levy already twitching on the trigger, and a loss to West Ham will not lighten the mood….

I thought Porro had a poor game. Didn't offer enough going forward and defensively was all over the place, Mitoma had him on toast the entire second half.

Wouldn't mind giving Spence a run on his stronger side.

I tend to agree with this.

Romero is also not as good as he, and a few others seem to think he is. Gets caught out too much for me and Mikey has saved his bacon on more than one occasion this season.

Not sure who said it during the game, but Romero was playing like he had one eye on the plane to Argentina, and not for the first time I might add.

Ange is very set in his ways though so I can't see that happening anytime soon! I don't expect any changes for the West Ham game though and barring international injuries I would suspect the same line up starts on the 19th...

I actually don't think Levy sacks coaches on results. I think he sacks them when they stop doing the things they promised during the recruitment process. The only exception is Jol where Levy thought he could hire someone better.

I think Ange should be given time, but time is running out.

I don’t think he’s close to the sack at all.

I still think he’s very much safe, as he should be, for the immediate future (barring a dreadful run of consecutive losses over the next batch of games) but our win rate has to improve under him otherwise I think Jan/ Feb will be a time where Levy gets twitchy.

I think he’s safe as long as the club are still in Europe. If the club are in the bottom half when Spurs get knocked out of Europa then I think Levy will have no choice but to dismiss him unless they’re still in the FA Cup too. League Cup win seems highly unlikely with Man City up next.

There are quite a few ahead of him in the "who goes first this season" race, but it just needs a few more poor performances like yesterday to ramp up the pressure. I've just seen it re-run again on Sky and it does become worse the more you watch! Gluten for punishment me... <laugh>

That's a very surprising stat because over those 16 seasons based on our total points return you would expect an average of 12.6 points and one season of worse than 7.
I checked the numbers and it seems that we tend to outperform by about 10% in the first 7 games and also the scatter is much lower than you would expect. No idea why. But 10 points is still well within the statistically insignificant range

Fatigue is playing a role in this, given the amount of football he's played and the distance travelled to do so is catching up to him

This is why Dragusin's straight red against Qarabag was such a disaster, as it meant we lost the ability to tactically rotate against Ferencvaros

Yep, again I wouldn't disagree with you and these more frequent international breaks are becoming a bit of a liability. Is it my imagination or does there appear to be more of them of late?

Also I would suggest that the same applies to Sonny....

We are often the highest on that sort of stat simply by virtue of being one of the ever presents. Four of the others have been much better than us so won't have lost so many matches. Everton won't have led 2-0 as often as us!

True but it's one of those meaningless headline grabber stats that pundits like to drone on about.

Like saying a team hasn't scored more than x against another team since 1972. That bears absolutely no relevance to the game being played in the here and now, yet people will treat it like some sort of portent.
