How many chances have we created though? We've scored 10 goals and conceded 7 and bagged 9 points in those 4 games, promotion form.
Failed to score in almost half our games and easily swatted aside by the three higher quality teams we've played. That's fine if the aim is to avoid relegation, not so good if we have higher ambitions.
I'm saying the two groups broadly line up so quibbling over days to defend Walter's side scoring less goals is silly. What did you think I was saying?
I believe we have a good decent squad of players, but the system the manager wants to play is unsuitable for the championship l am sure if we played 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 with the players we have got and possibly a good striker we would be making a challenge for top six, but I can't see the manager adapting his system.
Thought we look decent on Saturday. Much like Sheffield United, Norwich were clinical and hit us on the break. We'll probably see a few more of these across the season but if we sandwich them with wins we'll be okay. I do think we need to use the defeat and the international break to get our best 11 as our starting 11. Pandur did well again but a great opportunity to get Rushworth in the team. Although Coyle has been outstanding, for the longevity of the season we need to get Drameh at RB and we need to get Giles and LB and get him performing. We'll need to make a decision about LB before the January window so Giles needs to prove if he's up to it or not. Would you get more out of Omur on LW if Giles was overlapping as Omur was cutting in? Kamara gave a good account for himself and two of our wins last week came with Millar coming on early in the second half, so even though Millar has been great is he even better as an impact sub? I wana see what this team can do against Sunderland Rushworth Drameh, Jones, Hughes, Giles Zambrano Belloumi - Omur - Alzate - Kamara/Millar Bedia
I can't understand this suggestion we should drop a great keeper, who's ours, to play a loan keeper (who'll be recalled in Jan, as he was a pointless signing). Dropping Coyle, who's been our player of the season so far, is equally odd.
Poor as Drameh was Giles hardly set the world alight coming on as a sub and to be dropped in the first place as a left back showed how poor he was and has been
we hardly looked decent its easier to look 'better' when you're 2 down and the opposition drops their intensity
To be fair for spells I thought we looked ok in between goals. Balloumi had a cracking chance to score early on but decided to cut in on to his left and chance was gone. The abhorrent defending does really outshine our sometimes decent attacking play
That's not what happened though. They continued to play their stuff and made a few sporadic chances - including the blown penalty. But we definitely played better and with better end product could have got back into the game.
There's plenty of grey areas in between here Brady. We had ok moments and conceded most of the chances we gave up. The latter doesn't negate the fact we also had chances to score our own
It's what happened. You can fling as much street talk around as you like, it'll still be what happened.
From the Norwich board: Our xG (from FBref) against Hull yesterday was 3.7 (Hull 0.9). With the exception of Sheffield Wednesday's trouncing of Plymouth on the opening weekend (xG 4.4), this is the highest recorded by any Championship team so far, the next best being Leeds's 3.3 against Portsmouth, also on the opening weekend. Individual contributions to the cumulative total were 1.5 (Sargent, 0.7 if you exclude the penalty), Sainz 0.7, Núñez 0.5, Gordon and Marcondes (both 0.3), with the balance made up by low quality chances falling to four other players. now I’ve no idea what it means but sounds like a bumming to me Tho I’m probably rabid frothing at the mouth and the like But my opinion is we got hammered and were never in it There may have been the odd chance but we were well done over Walter needs to work on our defence and how we cope when we lose possession. Yes we have some good attacking players but no matter how many we score we will still lose if we keep been as wide open as we are FACT
I am sure SYD will be along to explain it all in great detail and tell us what he really meant when someone queries it and how we aren’t able to understand the finer points to us lesser mortals.
We did get hammered but goals change games and we didn't get any, though it always felt as though a goal might come. Probably rather blinkered of me but I don't always feel like that.
If we had been more clinical on the day we might have scored a couple. If they had been re clinical on the day they might easily have scored 7 or 8. We danced the day away, all good and easy on the eye, but never got round to asking for the girls number or taking her home!
