Interesting fact. Millmoor was the ground used in the film ID to represent Shadwell Town’s ground colloquially called The Kennel.
Another interesting fact. Portland Park, Ashington's old ground, was used in the film "A Captain's Tale". A work mate of mine played for Ashington at the time and him and a few others were given short back and sides and used as extras in the football scenes. *Edit, just checked my facts, apparently Portland Park was deemed too "modern" for the era so they built a more appropriate pitch and a makeshift stand at Woodhorn, on the outskirts of Ashington. They Ashington team, at the time did provide the opposition.

Shin Pads... Are they no longer required per the rules? Been wondering about this for a while. When I first started playing it was the full shin slip in efforts, then everyone was wearing the big bulky ones with ankle protection too. I'm pretty sure some players dont wear any now...if you look at poveda, for example, he's not wearing any in this image is he?
I've been saying this for a while. Stadiums, especially in London, are becoming 'corporate' and sterile. Blocks of season tickets are bought up by 'agencies' who sell match tickets to Chinese visitors who add nothing and take away everything. The whole thing is becoming fake with tourists doing Madame Tussauds in the morning, 'Soccer' in the afternoon and Mamma Mia in the evening. Newcastle are kicking out locals to bring in more corporate areas. The 'best league in the world' is becoming a sad middle class joke. "Enzo Maresca, the Chelsea manager, is playing cheerleader, throwing his arms in the air and looking to the supporters as he tries to raise the roof on Stamford Bridge while pushing for an equaliser with Forest. The Italian has spoken about building an atmosphere again which has understandably declined due to the poor performances in recent years. It remains flat with one of the oldest fan bases in the country and an increasing number of tourists in attendance."
Just sat in a hotel in Cardiff that has a 'sports' bar. Advert just been on for the new fifa game and there is Jude playing it with Jobe. Made me smile as one is a brilliant talent and the other plays for Real Madrid
I've seen that, he comes across really well doesn't he ... ... he's also on a Sky trailer for upcoming games. Good that he's pulling in big money, from these things, and isn't desperate for a big money move. I wish I was involved with the Sunderland marketing team tbh, so much more we could do. Sadly I'm at the wrong age, in the wrong place and at the wrong time Still, the club is becoming everything I've always wanted it to without my help.
If you have watched Jude Bellingham's you tube programmes, it showed you it being filmed. Beckham was there and it showed him talking to their parents. Watching it, I've wondered how Jude moving over to Madrid and Jobe half moving in the same circles when they've been together have affected him - basically him thinking "I wouldn't mind some of this" kind of thing. I suppose we'll find out in due course
I don't mind any of the players making money from endorsements, I'm proud that they play for us and the lads deserve it. Off the field has completely turned around and that was my big bug bear, if we can nail the ticketing then I will be over the moon as its the last little annoyance
The potential impact of having Jobe here and other kids parents seeing the way they have looked after both of them is only another positive for the club in my eyes
Oh totally mate. I just wonder what Jobe thinks when he sees the circles his brother is now traveling in, the people he meets and the like. I know Jude has said it would be his wish for the 2 of them to play for England together, my wish would be the 2 Bellingham brothers and Chris Rigg knowing that we had a hand in 2 of their careers
