He looked all over the place. Not sure if he felt responsible for the first one or something, but his head was gone.
If it looks likely below 7th by around late Feb/ early March, the manager gets sacked. They always do once qualification for European football (especially CL and EL) looks doubtful.
To be 2-0 playing some really good football it’s about mentality. Yeah you can say this or that player should have started or be brought on, but we should have seen this game out and not just capitulate so tamely
7 games, 3 games won and 3 games lost. Not great but unless Spurs go on a long unbeaten run like beginning of last season it’s probably where you’d expect them to be. It’s why I’m bemused when some of you seem so comfortable saying Spurs should be winning Europa. Imo top 6 and last 8 of Europa would be above expectations with the current set up and calibre of manager and players.
It's both. The game should have been put to bed by HT but wasn't. They came out 2nd half - or rather, they didn't - with no energy and lost all momentum and as soon as we conceded the first the heads were down and confidence drained. That's the time when a coach earns his money and makes the changes Ange didn't (again) and things just got worse and worse.
Nope he did not. The whole back four looked totally spooked, especially after the equaliser and there was only one ending to that game. The midfield also decided it didn't like to help out in the rain. No leader out there to take the team by the scruff of the neck. Then again it could be worse, could be a Man U fan..
Not should, but could - and just more of a chance than one of the domestic trophies or finishing Top 4. Mind you, performances like that and FC CarrierBag will be kicking their lips for the return.
There is no return. We play 8 different teams in the group stage, which has a table of 36 (I think) clubs.
That starting XI MF/attack cannot do that, when the opposition tussle becomes faster and more physical. So if I know it, so does the manager. Therefore subs had to be made to bring on players who are more capable of it.
it’s not a case of should be winning europa, but more a case of the quality of opposition being more at our level, in general. The PL and domestic cups are full of teams that are way better than us. At least with Europa there’s some hope of a trophy that remotely feels possible.
Just sums up where we are at the moment. Plenty of ups but the occasional massive downs. Shows the squad still isn’t quite right when having to rely on Werner to much and still missing a centre back. You could tell there’s international break coming up with Romero!
