    Sunday 6th October 3:00pm

Onto the second home game in BS3 this week and a tough encounter with our Welsh neighbours the other side of the severn bridge.

After Wednesdays poor performance against a very poor Sheff weds -Liam Manning needs a result against a struggling Cardiff City who have the dubious record of the worst start in championship history-however winning in midweek which will have given them the boost for Sunday.
Bristol City are struggling to score goals and that at present is the achilles heel. Unless this can be addressed then it is going to be a long and hard season ahead.
Liam Manning is under pressure no doubt about that - Wednesday fans were booing him and that is not a good sign especially the following day having a go back at the supporters.

A certain Nigel Pearson was sacked after a loss to Cardiff something the majority of fans were not happy with -if Liam Manning does lose this game then the pressure pot is going to rise even further as his record so far is worse than Nigel Pearsons at this stage of season-He also has been given a good war chest for the 2024-2025 season. Something Nigel Pearson was never given. Ultimately is this the game Liam could get the sack.
He clearly has not won over the fanbase in his time here and many fans don't see him as a upgrade on Nigel Pearson- in fact you have the master and pupil situation.

Cardiff will be backed by a veracious and noisy sold out away end and their manager and players will be looking for their second win in a week.
Bristol City are 3 points off a relegation spot-Let's hope Sunday we are not sitting in the bottom three with Cardiff.

Predicted score Bristol City 1-Cardiff City 2

Give it a rest about your man crush RR, he was given more money than you will ever admit, while raising nada, until he sold the family jewels in Scott & Semenyo. His football was blah. Get over it!!

Hard to beat-grinded out results with a threadbare squad ravaged with injuries-players gave everything for the man.

Annoyingly, and predictably perhaps, Cardiff have won their last game, so maybe they’re about to go on a winning streak?
At least we won’t be the team that ends their awful run of form whatever happens!!!

There’s a match thread going on their board:
    https://not606.com/threads/season-2024-2025-match-9-bristol-city-away.414442/

Looks like our sheep-worrying cousins have got us sussed right out with this quote:
‘As is always the way at Ashton Gate however, the fans are in their usual bi-polar state – one minute they are looking good and can be real contenders, then a defeat later and the manager needs sacking, the board should go and it is all Lee Johnson’s fault.’ <laugh><laugh>

The injuries last season under Nige were no worse than the second half under LM, or even the start of this season, you could argue, although the squad has been strengthened in depth this season. At least get the facts straight.

Our league positions say differently regarding your hard-to-beat comment.... What players gave more to Nige than they have for LM, or DH or LJ before that? You say this all the time, but qualify it? He pi$$ed off Kalas, Wells, HNM and Weimann for goodness sake.

Even if we lose to Cardiff I can’t see LM being sacked because that would mean those in power have got it wrong
But another half dozen games like it’s been so far might see him being sent down the road

I’m sure he won’t be sacked if we lose Sunday, but if we don’t improve soon he’ll be under increasing pressure.

I worry because I don’t see us getting anyone better if he is sent packing. Let’s hope we stuff Cardiff and go on a winning streak. COYR

That would be nice, but I think a draw is more likely tbh.

We are mired in mediocrity and apathy and here we are again talking about another manager biting the dust. Only until such time as the management wake up to the realities of their poor decisions will we ever have a chance of getting the success they claim they want for the club. If indeed that is what they truly want then they have to get their collective heads out of the sand, and I would suggest they do it before the tide of discontent comes rushing in. Absolutely clueless on how to run a good football club.

“If Bristol City play like they have been…”

“They should have too much for Cardiff”

@RyanDilks1 has chosen a Bristol City win in the Severnside derby as his banker of the weekend!

V cardiff we could if the gods are with us go up to 10th or 14th equal from our position in 17th at the moment.
the varied results so far is showing that there is 8 teams where a team winning 1 game can move a few places or lose 1 to find they have dropped a few!

Unchanged lineup. If it didn’t work then let’s try it again DOH

Amazing isn’t it, especially since his excuse on Wednesday about them being “leggy”

I would have swapped out Armstrong for Wells or Fally. Armstrong runs the channels a lot which leaves nobody in the box. So, one of the attacking midfielders needs to fill that void. It’s not really Twine’s strength, he likes to operate on the edge of the box, so Knight has to be that person, and he isn’t. For me, that’s our big problem right now.
