Tiote, Barton or Enrique?

  1. This has probably been asked before, but out of these 3 players, our best players IMO, if you had to keep two and get rid of one, which one would you get rid of?

Which player is the least vital?

I can't even make a decision, but if i had to, i'd go for Enrique.

I'd get rid of Enrique, because we need Tiote's strength and ball control, Barton's vision and Deliveries, and both of their abilities to disperse play.

Enrique is a fantastic player, but i personally think that Tiote and Barton are the heart of our team. Enrique could be replaced, not necessarily by a LB of the same quality, but we could still buy a quality LB, and a good enough replacement. Barton is a legend around here, and is committed to the club, and Tiote is, in my opinion, one of a kind in this league.

I'm asking this question, as these 3 players have been rated our best players, and with suspicision of Enrique and Tiote leaving for one of the big clubs, i'd just like to bring this subject up. Thanks.

Considering we have only bought one left back in decades, can't get rid of Enrique now, especially considering he has formed a pretty nifty partnership with Jonas.
Tiote - player of the season this far
Barton - one good half a season he has had for us so far... where has he been last 2 and half seasons? Injured/In Prison/Suspended/Not playing well(returning to fitness)

If we had to for whatever bizarre reason I would get rid of Barton because we don't have another left back to replace Jose and we don't have another holding midfielder (Smith is a bit past it). We have Ben Arfa, Raylor and Ireland who can all play in Barton's position.

  8. Well it's more than half a season mate, we only have a few months left. Barton has been brilliant this season, and his deliveries have been the most important part of our player this season, as they have lead to a massive portion of the goals.

  9. Yeah, they can play in his position, but can they provide the same quality deliveries? Ben Arfa hasn't proven himself yet, Ireland is out of form, and Raylor is average.
You cannot replace Barton, because no one else on our team, apart from perhaps Enrique who plays at LB, can provide as good as he can.

Sorry 2/3 of a season and yes he has been brilliant - not as good as Tiote so a flip between him and Enrique. Enrique is almost a world class player on the rise and a player who has played quality for 1 and 2/3 of a season

Between Barton and Jose I think. Three vital players but as secret ingredient said, probably Barton due to age.

But at least we have other RM's in the squad or players who can play RM. We don't have another LB.

    I'd marry Enrique - jajajajaja

I'd shag Tiote - that forehead

    I'd avoid Barton - scary.

  14. How has Barton not been as good as Tiote? Tiote has the best ball control, dribbling ability and strength on the team, but Barton's assists have been vital, and i'm pretty sure we haven't won a game without him in the team. What does that say?
Tiote's play looks easier on the eye, but Barton has been the most vital player so far. If you take Barton out the team, we'd be relegated, as his deliveries have lead to vital goals. If you take Tiote out the team, we could still stay up, but we'd lose alot of strength in the midfield.

Tiote has been more vital than Barton, easily.

Barton may have more assists but without Tiote we don't have the player to link up the defence and midfield - Barton wouldn't have got as many assists without Tiote. Simple as that.

Hmm, by integrating in to a new team in a new league in a new country by putting in sheer quality performances ina Makelele way thus meaning our defence hasn't had the pressure put on it like in the last 20 years

Like I said - Barton has been here same length of time as Enrique but has only shown any quality this one season, you are right he is putting in quality perforamces and providing assist after assist, but how long before the red mist descends? As other posters have mentioned - his age is against him as well, he's on high wages... not even a close call for me

  17. Tiote wasn't even here at the start of the season. He's missed 3 games through suspension, and one more yellow card he misses another two games. Tiote has not been more vital that Barton, they've both been vital,
but it's Barton that's had to put in the quality deliveries.

  18. Oh shut up about "the red mist". I'm sick of people still talking **** about his "anger problems". He's not the same bloke anymore, and it's annoying how some of our supporters still doubt him in that way. Apart from that one punch on Pederson, what has he done wrong this season? There's no such thing as red mist within Barton, it's completely over hyped bollocks. Tiote has committed far more fowls and gotten himself alot more attention in the books. I'm more worried about Tiotes next suspension, than Barton's.

Right, you complete tool - am bored of you as most people are. Yes he has it currently under control and even HE has admitted that HE has issues controlling it. Now, I have worked in service areas such as Domestic Abuse, mental health and people with drug/alcoholic issues and I can assure you that something bad happens 9/10 they revert to what is known to them and in Bartons case, red mist. He is the same person, the difference is he knows his demons and is working to combat them and so far so good.

  20. Yes, but what i'm saying is it's stupid wondering when Barton's next case of "Red mist" will come along, when Tiote could be facing another two matches on the sidelines! Barton could punch another 50 players in the rest of his career, or he could punch no one.
Tiote has shown that because of his style of play and his rash challenges at times, he will get booked alot and get suspensions. I like Tiote's fire and passion, and his style of play is important, but we should be planning for a future where Tiote will be missing quite a few games, and think what will we do without him during his suspensions.

I fear Tiote's risk of getting susended, far more than Barton's "red mist". We shouldn't be even thinking about it.
