My bad. Too early in the morning. I take it all back Nostro. Wonder what the outcome would have been if Newcastle were more clinical with the greater number of chances that we created?
Look up vice versa it's very useful on this one Anyway the game was a draw Newcastle didn't create much given the amount of ball they were allowed. Have a nice weekend.
This MoTD advert for last night. https://x.com/tonydunn05/status/1842675253803143476?s=46&t=GjXW4PhG0s7kgSMl8GkTkw
That's very true, however A. He knew diddly squat about what happened, hence flukily B. It was a response to Royston's comment about Everton had best opportunities apart from pen.
They had two very good chances and Newcastle had 3... I think the lewin chance was the best in the match.
Well in that case every man who is on the line and blocks could be classed as lucky, who knows. It didn’t go in, so call it whatever you like is the summary.
**** me, that's a comment for the ages. The best chances in football now are the ones that are disallowed for offside. Apparently you've "scored" when it's offside.
So when Everton clear one off the line Newcastle are unlucky and when Newcastle play an offside trap Everton never created the chance.
Yes. Cos the offside trap worked and negated the chance. The one cleared off the last one was a chance, the disallowed goal wasn't.
He was on the line in the first place so what he did worked.. Everton created the chance and what Newcastle did worked.. We can't have it both ways.
It's probably better for our fans mental gymnastics for them to say schar played him offside. You know how it goes.. anything we do is great and anything the other clubs do is down to Newcastle's poor defending.
Was nice to see Gordon keep up his usual standard of performance at Goodison….before and after his move. Wanted to be the hero……
We would find this highly satisfying if the situation was reversed. I particularly liked how he put such a visual effort in to his penalty taking process before taking a **** one. The decision to take it was the wrong one... the crowd would not have put so much pressure on another player. Newcastle imo are not the smartest side you'll find and definitely a bit of a soft touch psychologically. All that said it's probably a good point because it's never easy to get a win at Goodison which I'd advised all week.
6 wins, two losses and a draw in the last 8 home games. The losses coming after having a makeshift back line like yesterday. Gordon and Barnes should have had Young and Garner on toast. sadly ego sometimes works against players.
