Think the worst part of it is seeing how many Norwich fans are saying how much of a **** hole hull is. I can take that from a fair few places but Norwich is a boring, miserable **** hole of its own.
I'm obviously missing something because to me there seems to be nowt there. Where are these hoards of tourists from? Somewhere even more dull like Boston or Peterborough?
Having got home just now with some reflection that was the result I think everyone’s been expecting when saying “a good team will take its chances”. In reality it could’ve been more as well as we were just second best today. Don’t know if that’s sign of fatigue with 3 intense games in this intense system in a week or Norwich were just better. Most likely some combo of the two. Individual performances were poor as well. Thought Millar and Drameh both had stinkers but it’s going to happen every now and then. Hughes bless the lad gets thrown in and makes some pretty big mistakes but we all saw with Balloumi and Pandur early in their debuts do similar and have kicked on because I thought he was actually bright when he came on. On Pandur I do wonder if Tim uses this to bed in Rushworth even if I think personally it would be harsh as he couldn’t do much for the goals outside the 4th. Hope they can learn from this and tweak some things. As good as Norwich are and I probably think they’re in and around the playoffs this year we didn’t help ourselves by making them look better. Not that it would’ve affected anything as well but the Ref again was utterly awful. Giving a foul on Mehlem when he got rugby tackled in the middle was a highlight. Bitter medicine to swallow going into the international break but hopefully now they can get their heads down. I would start bringing in Alzate as well. Looked very comfortable on the ball:
Except for once only been to Carrow Road. The one time I have been in centre with my wife there were coaches queuing up to drop people off, something I have never seen in Hull. At the main cathedral there was a dozen coaches in the car park. Only time I have seen a dozen coaches in Hull is if there is a big away following at a City game. Listening to the ones milling about in the cathedral they were from boring places like the USA, Germany, Japan…My wife even commented on the amount of overseas tourists. I leave her to the shopping, one benefit of having COPD is it gives me an excuse to sit on a cafe whilst she is going round the shops, and she said the shopping was far better.
What? The 2 goals against blades weren’t due to the set up? Individual errors contributed also, but both goals came from our own corners where our last man back was at the edge of their box. It was suicidal and we got punished for it.
Maybe the Norwich fan I know is wrong but he doesn’t think their team is that good, not as good in previous few seasons. Which, if that is the case, is worrying as they were better in every department except for that of goalkeeper.
I'm not writing the season off. It is panning out as I expected. I predicted a 12th place finish - I don't expect us to be serious contenders this season, especially not with the wide open way we play. Wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with 15 wins, 16 draws and 15 defeats. 60 points - 12th place or thereabouts.
They said the same last season and finished in the playoffs. They’ve got some good pieces that most don’t in this league with Sainz, Sargent and Nunez. They’ll be in the playoffs again I suspect injuries allowing
Yes, he said that. In fact he thought they would be in a relegation struggle last season. Good to know others have opinions as inaccurate as some on here.
Hull and Coventry cities of culture LOL. They award these to generate some interest in the places and try and attract some visitors. Norwich doesn’t need that, it gets plenty of visitors due to the many attractions,
They've got lofty expectation from being up and down a few years. There probably one of the 8 teams I’d say aren’t **** in this league
Since 2008 their record is nearly identical to ours, we have both spent 1 season in League One 1, we have had 5 seasons in the PL and they have had 6.
