The second he drops into centre half we have an issue. He is more likely to do that as a 6 and not a 8.
That’s a deliberate choice though (rather that a function of his position) I think. Not something that has worked all that much thus far but it’s a decision rather than a natural occurrence. In the two banks of four when we get it right he’s gonna end up in the same place either way - and if I’m honest I’d certainly back Jobe to get back into shape from further up quicker and more securely than Neil. Truth is he’s got some learning to do either way. My bet is that him playing as an 8 would see lots of daft trailing fouls as he works back. Better to get him learning in a spot where he can scan the whole pitch when we do have the ball imo. Thought it was noticeable that he stepped on a fair few times second half when leeds had dropped off into a low block. It’s the sort of thing we’ll need as teams sit off us more this season. Play through the bad form, clear his head and come back stronger. Most importantly add experience and calmness. I reckon it’ll click for him this season.
Disagree think barring a 15 minute spell in the middle of the first half where yes they were all over us we had the better of it. Jobe had 2 good chances first half and curled one just wide with another half chance. There 2nd goal was against the run of play we seemed to be building pressure in them at that point. They were always a threat going forward but felt for most of the game this was mainly on the break. Anyway don't think I've left a game so happy in my life after draw but I guess that's just due to the way it unfolded.
I haven't read any comments about Tommy's introduction into the game on here yet. As of yesterday, arguably the best team we have faced. And yet I felt he slid in like a glove, and we started to fight back after his introduction, Very impressed with the lad and I feel he will go far, and fit in and be as successful as Mundel has been. Can't wait to see him play a full match.
Take a look for yourself from the Leeds fans who actually went The ground doesn't look half empty to me. 13 minutes onwards is hilarious especially Leeds booing their own player.
He looked decent in the summer on the right too, so he should be getting plenty time in the next few month. Maybe similar to rigg last year where he starts to filter in first team and out of the u23s
I will be over the chuff when he does, a great prospect in the making, i would like to see him get a full start on some lesser teams, as he has been bloodied against the best and proved to be OK
With his injury record if a big bid comes in then I’d be tempted to take the money. Heart wants him to stay fit and be our left back for a long time yet but head says remember Ross Stewart. If we can get £8-10m I’d take it.
Top of the league into the international break, it's a nice feeling and know we can play better. Can't wait for the next game
