I had a nightmare last night, dreamt that a French man played in goal for us and let a howler into his net with 10 seconds left on the clock FFS. End of the match he was talking to there French manager, this the useless twat should of been apologising to his team mates and most of all the travelling fans. Did the ref book them Mackem twats that we’re jumping in with the supporters..NO But ours do if they celebrate a goal, plus that ref was a pillow biter, you see his 70’s style shorts, it’s all fkd, going back on a bender.
Cracking game lads. I thought a draw was fair, even if the equalizer was absolutely and utterly outrageous from your keeper. You played some great stuff, but if we’d had a runner into the box we would have too, was weird how many times we had nobody edge box. Your lot as always added to a great atmosphere and please god we both go up this year. By far the best side we’ve played when you attack, nobody has dominated us for a spell like that in first half unless we’ve been sitting off. I think you go up auto, and hopefully we get up through playoffs. Good luck.
For me he's never had any serious competition for his place, darlow is a journeyman keeper and Coco was a thought that klaessen might have pushed himself for the number 1 spot but wasn't to be...I never feel comfortable when I see him rolling the ball under his feet as if he's some sort of maldini playmaker ...a great display by the team in the main catastrophically thrown away by an unexplainable piece of concentration...will it cost us in the long run to persevere? or should the recruitment team be looking forward to the January window, it's a yes from me...junior aspirin didn't seem to pleased neither did he
For what it's worth Struijk said that the ball did bounce sideways in a very strange way and that he'd never seen a ball act like it did before. Is Uri Gellar a Sunderland fan?
Good morning all Was unable to watch the match last night due to family night out. Now in hindsight glad i didn't otherwise my boot would have been threw my monitor. You all know i don't rate Meslier but is Darlow any worse? and if he was in goal would we have taken the three points imo yes. for those that have not yet seen a realy good team performance marred at the end, link below for highlights.
Difficult one really. Thought it was a terrific performance, well managed particularly after we took the lead. Like most, couldn’t see them scoring until Mes intervened. Though speechless straight afterwards here’s what I took from the performance. We are gonna be without Rodon and Bogle shortly. They have 4 yellows apiece and 10 matches remaining to avoid a booking and one match ban. Can’t see either avoiding a ban. Willie and Junior have 3 apiece same number of matches remaining. So we need bodies back quickly and no more injuries. Thought Rothwell and Tanaka looked a reasonable pairing. Their weakness was perhaps defensive cover, but I liked Rothwell going forward. Aaronson is still far too lightweight, at times he did great getting to the ball, then got so easily pushed off it. Also overdoes the turning out of trouble, he did it so much last night he turned back into it at times . Never been convinced about Rodon, still don’t rate him. Unsurprisingly much has been made of Mes. Absolute howler from someone I don’t really see has improved in the last few yrs. Never really been convinced about him, but is he any worse than Aaronson(Portsmouth), Rodon(Norwich). Piroe put himself about and took his chance really well. Feel the change was needed, as much, to perhaps wake Joseph up re the need to add goals to his overall play. I’d have taken a point beforehand. MOT
Oh, we did really well defending corners, as we generally did against Norwich (yes I know they had a decent chance immediately before we equalised).
The simple fact is Meslier was waiting for the ball to come to him instead of getting his hands and body behind it. I seriously think the lad has poor eyesight and his reactions are pitiful for this level. His punches are weak and often go back to danger areas. He is just not a good keeper and if the club had ambition (IF) they would buy a really good keeper and pay him the wages needed.
That would explain it. I was fuming last night. I was more angry that none of it made sense. If Meslier just missed it then it's a huge problem for us. If it hit a sprinkler or divot then at least it explains what happened.
I thought we played well and deserved the win but at least we weren’t beaten. As I watch every game stone cold sober I feel I see things from a different perspective than many of our fans. Meslier saved their first shot on the line but had no chance with the rebound for their first goal. He also was catching high balls in the area. All those thinking they want someone “better”, be careful what you wish for. I’m happy with Meslier in goal especially as we are getting better at defending. Obviously there are still plenty moments where my heart is in my mouth but nothing should detract from the overall performance last night.
hello again lads, well that certainly was the good game i hoped it was going to be, your fans made plenty of noise and your team out-played us for a good while...certainly expected us to lose when it came down to the closing stages but that was a terrible way to grab a point, not complaining though. leeds were one of the teams we expected to grab promotion this season, saw nothing to change that.
Watch the video on 0.25 speed (in settings) and watch exactly where the ball lands, anyone else see it?
By the way. Ref played more than 6 minutes is because they add on 30 seconds per substitute in injury time.
