The yanks had certain info though Anport that was passed on to the British which indicated the specifics.

British intelligence tracked them all the way to Omagh listening to them on their mobiles as they made coded calls to one another. They never notified the RUC of the immediate threat...........& didn't even notify anybody after the bomb went off of what they knew!!!!

The CID team were not aware MI5 had this info whilst they investigated the bombing!!!!

Thats down to most of them being ****ing thick as **** <ok>

The guy who made the call was in a second car that travelled up with the car bomb, once they got to Omagh they would split up the one car would be left &bomb detonated to explode in 30 minutes & the second car would go another way to make the call for the warning. The warning he gave was so vague they could not identify which car had the bomb in.

The attempt before this saw them try & make the warning call to the Belfast Times or something like that.......only to find out the newspaper switchboard was not open that day <doh>

Because it came out in the enquiry <ok>

The RUC & CID within N.Ireland were raging when they found out MI5 knew about the bombing and did not warn them - the irish police & RIRA were the only ones who warned them of the bomb.

MI5 also refused to tell those investigating the bomb that they had info on the bombers.

As I said all this was made public in the enquiry & also on Panarama who actually played the tapes MI5 had recorded <ok>

As above Nev - although i put UL and not UK - if you read any report into this (non uk - they limit what you lot get to know) and you'll find out more

Funnily anything damning of the government on an issue like ireland doesnt get reported in the UK

Its a common failure in our logic......just because someone does something that affects many lives , we attribute to them qualities such as cunning, intelligence, foresight and planning....from Haig to Bin Laden and all ****s in between.

    I've made a bit of a **** up here lads <laugh>

I've merged two events into one here <doh>

Ignore the bit about the yanks agent, that was Enniskillen <ok>

It was an informer for MI5 who gave them the info that Omagh was the target of bomb attack, Panarama have done a program which has the calls made & recorded by MI5 <ok>

Enniskillen is the other one where an American planted in Ireland gave info to his handlers who passed in on to Britain & again the bomb was not prevented despite specifics being given.

In both cases nobody is in prison for these bombings, what does that say???
