I know what your saying but I can comprehend how Sprake did it. Went to throw it, changed his mind at the last minute, tried to keep hold of the ball but it slips out. It's bad but at least I can understand how it happened. That one tonight completely befuddles my mind. I mean, what was he trying to catch? Where did he think the ball was? It's just weird.
The way he kept looking at the ground like it was an unlucky bounce. In the playoffs he went to pieces, his distribution is diabolical, he doesn’t command his area, saves 1 in 19 or so penalties. Yes he pulls off the occasional great save but so does every keeper I’ll not abuse him but if we can’t put better in goal he’ll cost us promotion
You can't legislate for that...apart from he's always got that in him he seems to have brain farts in his locker, and I would now empty it and give him his keys.. there's better out there
he was trying to suggest it spun .. you’d need to see a behind the goal angle to be sure but it didn’t look like it moved much - abd at the speed it was moving it shouldn’t matter
it was well said by Olaf and Shako, should have got rid of him, still he will be gone in Jan, he will never live though that howler
It had more of a back spin to it. None of it makes sense. I'm genuinely confused and it makes me more angry tbh. Maybe he's just dumb as ****. Would explain alot of his decisions.
Seeing another angle it did spin a lot… but if you can see it spinning you either get close and smother it, or step back and cover it. Disaster.
Can understand your hurt mate, however being a Sunderland lad, if it wasn't for my deceased girlfriend when i was serving, anything could have happened
Apart from the keeper mistake we played well away to a team that’s very strong at home and with a new midfield due to injuries. Hopefully we can push on from here, I think we edged it, slightly the better team. What **** support they really have though, fans leaving with plenty of game time left and just one goal in it, those fans don’t deserve to be top
Im with you on this one mate, Laugh it off, we went toe to toe with them and the team put in a great shift. Not letting it spoil my weekend, would have taken a point before kick off.
Two maybe three big keeper blunders I am aware of Sprake at Liverpool, threw it into his own net, scousers played Des O’Conners “ Careless Hands at half time, typical scousers. Another was Robinson playing for England and he missed kicking the ball altogether as it bounced awkwardly ball runn into the net. Meslier at Everton Meslier at Sunderland Meslier every other fkg week tbh There is a common denominator in all them keepers???? Guess’s Yep they all played for Leeds !!! FFS
