Israel have bombed a main road used by civilians that they told to flee southern Lebanon. There’s a surprise ….
@Citizen Kane. was telling me how secure the diplomatic relations were with Israel and other Middle Eastern countries. Well Oman has just called them out for what is, at the very nub of this whole conflict
I was listening to the released hostages the other day who I think were over in the UK. I got left with the impression there is a network of tunnels you would never believe unless you actually saw them, when they were recounting their experiences - so I assume and that's all it is that these hostages know a lot more valuable information than has ever been spread to the media. I saw today one such tunnel leads into Syria or so it's claimed. Anyway to my point....what is going on currently in Lebanon... Hezbollah has always been Iran's get out of jail card, they keep the Israeli's busy to stop them even attacking Iran - the only trouble is, Hamas have been smashed and now Hezbollah is the next target and from what I heard a few days ago they are not the force they were. Now thinking about this, Iran failed to harm Israel despite lobbing nigh on 200 missiles at them. Biden states we do not inform Israel what to do, only advice them. I think Israel is lining up the much bigger target here and I wouldn't be surprised if the Americans are silently behind it...with no Hezzbollah, Iran becomes fair game, especially with concerns around their nuclear capability....I'd be very surprised if Netty let an opportunity like this pass him by - Americans have been wanting to pick a fight with Iran for a long time, I'll let you draw the conclusions of what I'm getting at and I can't say I blame the Israeli's.
Japan would have fixed it by now and had the council issue an apology for the delay. Sort it out Lebanon.
I don’t think the US wants a war with Iran at all. I think they’d like to see their nuclear capabilities kept in check, but an all out war? No chance Israel on the other hand…. they seem to be doing everything the can to provoke Iran into one as Netanyahu is the little bully backed with big guns. And this comes, despite the US telling him to de-escalate.
This was always likely to happen... not necessarily from Oman ....and is one of the factors why Israel (Netanyahu) has refused the many calls for ceasefire etc ...
I didn't say the US wants a war with Iran (I said silently behind it). Why would they want a war when they can get someone else to give them a slap, big difference in the two. As you state the US supposedly keeps telling them to de-escalate....yeah right lol...what they say in public and what they discuss behind closed doors is something else. You'll be telling me next that Trump really got shot in the ear, and nobody but nobody knew what was going to happen. A Yazidi woman kidnapped 10 year ago by ISIS has been found in Gaza. I wonder if the reason she was there had something to do with the amount of Palestinian men that went to fight for ISIS? That’s a great place to keep hostages because of the sheer volume of underground tunnels? Anyway, Israel have been attacked for one year relentlessly by groups armed by Iran. They’ve been attacked every day from Lebanon. They’ve been attacked by Hamas from Palestine. They’ve had missles launched at them from Yemen, Iraq, Syria and now Iran. It is all Israels fault, tho. They shouldn’t strike back. Iran aren’t the biggest warmongers in this
Iran long overdue, of all the wars we get involved in, this is one that actually does need to happen for all the reasons you are giving. I don't like war no much more than the next person, but if someone needs booting into line it is certainly Iran - if you don't do it now the future might live to regret it, because Iran are only going to get worse. Edit: When I say war, I'm meaning a slap and it's up to them where it goes from there.
Doubt they care what Oman think tbf. They don't even have diplomatic ties with them like they do with Jordan and Egypt do they?
I don’t think the US want to ‘pick a fight’ with Iran either, but I agree that they’ll use Israel to do some of their dirty work for them, as Netanyahu is itching to torch the place. I also think their calls for de-escalation are genuine, as all out conflict in the region does them no favours, but this is the consequence of unequivocally backing a madman who has his own regional aspirations.
Oman is a western ally. But I don’t think Israel cares what anybody thinks to be honest. As long as they’ve got the backing of the big guns, money, and diplomatic protection, they’ll do what they want
