Every season he proves the doubters (like me) wrong. At first glance, he wasn't good enough for L1, then he forced his way back in. Then we all said he couldn't play CB and he's proved us wrong. Next I assumed he'd not make the step up to the Championship, but he's improved year on year. He brings so much to the team on and off the field.
I noticed that when mundle broke down the middle in the first half there was a forward half pass to Isidor that he ignored. rigg broke away in a similar manner and fed mundle who probably should have scored Rigg just has it
It’s strange that we are top when I think we are playing below the level we are capable of. We’ve played much better than last night so hopefully we will start to play better more consistently and if we do, we can then start thinking of promotion. Isidor is looking good. Do we have an option to buy at the end of his loan or is there some other clause where we get to sign him, playing a certain number of games for example. There’s a couple of things about how we play that I hope the Coaches are working on. First, our throw ins. I think we lost possession from our throw ins almost every time last night yet Derby kept possession from theirs. Is it a tactic to give them the ball so that we can counter attack if we get it off them during their attack. Even throwing it back and eventually to Patterson is better than losing possession. Second, I wish we wouldn’t fart about when Patterson passes it out and we get involved in a short passing game in and around our box which often ends up with us having to boot it upfield in panic and losing possession. Sometimes we nearly lose the ball in very dangerous areas or get away with a pass just missing being pinched by the opposition player closing us down.
I think in years to come and we look back, he'll be spoken about in the same terms as Ball and Bennett. He's come from outside of the area and bought into everything the area and club are about, he knows his limitations as a player but has worked on them to make him stronger and better. To come to the club as an attacking midfielder and will probably end his career as a centre back shows how much he has worked on his game
we have an option to buy of €4m but I have heard that it becomes an obligation if he reaches certain targets
I've always been a supporter of his, as a footballer not because of his character, but he's taken even me by surprise with how good he was last season and even more so this one. Proving people wrong seems to be what he does.

My new claim to fame - got the final question in on Ask Danny! Strange what a few drinks and a good result will do to common sense!
Must admit throwins annoy me greatly right across football. As pretty much the only opportunity for teams to push a defence back without worrying about offside, teams really should be training wide players to be able to throw it far and throw it quickly. Runs behind could open up so much space in the opposition half.
Having a mare here, had a lovely birthday weekend with family for our son in law. Wife starts feeling unwell Monday and starts with full blown Covid yesterday. I didn't see any of the game so recorded it or so I thought, had about an hours kip last night and finally got her settled this morning, sat down to watch the match only to find out I recorded the Boro game, bloody nightmare. Thanks to RTB I'll get to see the game sometime later today, this Covid hasn't gone away and she's pretty rough and I'm hoping she doesn't pass it into me.
here you go mate! hoping your wife feels better soon and that you don't catch it too! EDIT - Just seen that someone else posted it
Another thing on RLB. I think his ability to break down games in post match interviews is very good. He’s the first manager in a while that I can remember being as specific in his analysis and it gives me confidence that he knows exactly how to improve, as opposed to just hoping that we will somehow get better. Leeds will be a fantastic test for us on Friday.
Watching the game last night made me wonder about slipping in a new tactic that sounds crazy at first but it's growing on me. We seem happy to allow teams to have the ball, even Derby, so lets give it to them ... bear with me. Patterson seems to struggle at times to kick the ball, off the ground, without it going into touch, especially if he's under pressure. I'd like to see him, just a few times in the game, 'kick for touch' as they do in rugby. If he aimed for an area between the corner flag and level with the edge of the penalty area we could press them with Mundle, Jobe and Mayenda as an example. I'd avoid our right side as Roberts doesn't really have the bulk and Hume is best left in position imo. It would take the pressure off us at times when the other team are loading the midfield ... ... just a thought, I can hear some of you laughing at the back of the class, f*ck you it was Scout73's idea anyway
Not sure if it has been mentioned on here yet, but something needs to be done about the keeper sitting down midway through a half to allow a tactical time-out for the team. It's absolutely blatant what's going on, keeper should get a card imo.
