    What the managers said
QPR boss Marti Cifuentes speaking to BBC Radio London:

"We started the game at a high level, we were very brave on the ball as well so I'm very happy with the way we started the game. I think in the first 10 minutes we could have had two or three goals.

"In football you need to score your chances and perhaps the first opportunity they got, from the set play we concede a goal that we should defend much better.

"They were very good today at scoring key moments of the game. In the last third we need to be more clinical. It was a very good game for us until minute 70 despite conceding two goals, when they score the third one it's very difficult for us.

"We made a lot of chances, much more than them, but as we became more desperate they started to create more chances.

"It was something that pleased me but the reality is we need to score more goals."

On signing a new contract with QPR: "I think the club believes in what we're trying to do, to develop young players and play in an attacking way and hopefully we're going to get better and get the results that we want on the pitch once again.

"The supporters have been amazing and the players are all in so I appreciate the support from the owners."

Hull City manager Tim Walter speaking to BBC Radio Humberside:

"It was a tough game against a really tough opponent. We started like a fire engine, fortunately we had Ivor Pandur in goal.

"After we scored the first goal it was even better. Unfortunately we conceded the penalty but I was really pleased with the guys how we played in the second half.

"We had even more chances and that's what I want to see from them.

"They showed again mentality and that they trust each other and stick together.

"We are a good team and everyone believes in everybody."

Haha I fixated on that too. Wouldn't a fire engine be really fast and responsive? I assume he's saying we were sluggish so funny object to choose. Second language I suppose.

Were we in the top flight when you started supporting us?

Must've missed that bit of tigers history

We weren’t in the top flight 61 years ago. Checking on it I think in 61 years I have seen 8 relegations and 9mpromotions. Great stuff, eh? Arsenal fans who have never seen a promotion in that time must be green with envy.

    It's a 1:1 ratio.

If we were in the second tier when you first went, then you've seen the same number of relegations and promotions as the vast majority of over 45's who've supported us since childhood.

Its the younger generation post 2008 who can lay claim to the latter, if they started supporting us in specific years.

Those who started in the 90's generally have seen more promotions than relegations.

The later days of the cattle shed and piss trough era of 'fer ark' probably not.

But that rise from record crowds in Div 4 to holding our own in the Prem for a time back at the Circle was objectively one of the most privileged supporter experiences for a fan of any underperforming parochial club. In the history of modern football.

Wolves were down there playing at Scarborough, famously falling through the roof of the stand down the side. Doing better than we are. Other clubs gave done similar and lasted longer in the top flight, Brighton, Bournemouth…

But they're irrelevant. We went from bottom of the 4th division to joint top of the premier league quickest of all.

And 4 players contributed in all 4 leagues.

And the only man to ever do it captained us through it all.

    That's entertainment folks.

    Best club in the world.
