I agree. I also thought Stewart was okay. Lesley was hideous. I mean so far the standout bad display I am worried any other names are being bandied about. I also think Dibling and Fernandes were poor first half.
Dibling was poor, and seemed to think he had to dribble round the whole Bournemouth team every time he got the ball. Don’t agree on Fernandes though, he was our best player in the first half/game, though that’s a low bar.
I thought he was much better second half but was trying too hard and looked very frustrated - leading to that yellow - first half. I think playing him up top is a mistake and he should be deeper.
Sadly for him Leicester show far more fight. I know they eventually lost against Arsenal but they did come back from 2-0 down. I can’t even see us scoring.
Without doubt we play a system that works when you are stronger than the opposition, but is not very effective when you are weaker. That is why successful lower half sides play on the counter / press. They are maximising their chances.
I agree there were times when he did too much but I thought there were times when he had no option but to keep dribbling the ball because nobody was giving him passing options. He was more comfortable in the second half because he was only up against 1 or 2 defenders whereas in the more central position he was up against 2 DMs and others that were tracking back, forcing him to run into a blind alley.
Saints defensive midfield last night. Lesley Ann Down, assuming the position that saw us take it up the arse.
He went to Fulham I think. I have vague recollections of our supporters club offering the leftover 'Branfoot out' t shirts to their supporters
