Cornet played through the middle a few times for Burnley - I'm pretty sure he played there when he scored twice at SMS - but I struggle to recall them ever playing him as a lone striker. On the occasions that he did it, I'm pretty sure he had Wood alongside him. I have no problem with giving Paul a chance on the bench. But I don't understand the need for five strikers/forwards on the bench. Way too many. Just wait for Bednarek to get concussion after 15 mins or something, and we have no CBs to turn to.
For obvious reasons, I'm pleased to see Fraser starting. I doubt I'll be so pleased at that most weeks this season, but tonight is good.
I know Saints strikers aren't prolific but five on the bench and none in the starting lineup is surprising.
If he comes on, I think it'll be the first football he's played since he went off injured at Wembley.
Nailed it and what's been said on here many times. Nothing more frustrating than beating the press and then recycling it so we have to do it again.
It's like the team tactic version of Fabrice Fernandes. Good old Fabrice would beat his man, before going to back to seemingly just beat him again, rather than delivering the obvious cross.
The original Sulemana. Loved Fabrice for what it's worth. Can still vividly see his pearler against Everton.
