We need to give Alex Murphy and Jay Turner-Cook minutes in this game

    Can play cup games <cheers>

In all honesty I don't think he will play - it's who I would play but wouldn't surprise me to see one of our 3 starting CM's (Bruno, Tonali, Joelinton) start tomorrow.

    From nufc.com:

"The availability of Matt Targett, Sandro Tonali and Kieran Trippier is unclear, whilst it's expected that a much-changed starting line-up will include Emil Krafth, Miggy Almiron and William Osula."

That makes sense, with the exception of Osula, I doubt we'll see any debuts/kids starting. I assume Kelly will start CB too.

Hasn't played for us for about 3 years and sure as hell ain't gonna play this game, I assume probably Joelinton, Longstaff and Willock....with maybe Bruno coming on for Joelinton for the second half or vice versa.

Front 3 will be Osula, Miggy and who? I guess Barnes with Murphy replacing him later.

Maybe a late sub if it's all going to plan, don't want to risk starting him though.

I'd play him tbh, there isn't really any need to risk any of our starters against Wimbledon - I've worked for them and watch them at plough lane regularly - we should be winning this with 11 Isaac Hayden's. Howe won't though he'll have a decent-ish starting XI and a loaded bench but I'd personally go fringe players with youth on the bench.

I hope he plays the best 11 he possibly can... I want Newcastle to win a trophy one day.

Their record in league 2 is good right now, take nothing for granted..... remember Newport County nearly put us out under Bruce when we had a pretty much full strength team.

Osula, Krafth, Kelly, Almiron, Dubravka etc fine, but not the kids and reserves.

Guys if we play a weak side and go out it'll be too late... just get the game won then get off the big names.

Seriously the club hasn’t won anything since the moon landing.

Yeah but if we haven't got a squad capable against League Two then everyone should give up. I agree we should be putting strong teams out in difficult games to win a pot, but not in this kind of game.

Considering our under 21s are playing Halifax on the same night
Suggests to me Howe will play an experienced team

The entire point is to not take anything for granted, give some players on the fringe of the first team like Osula, Dubravka, Krafth etc games, but sticking a team of untested kids out would be a really stupid thing to do.

Start a strong side. Play some fringe players. Put the game to bed. And bring on the kids for some experience.

    It’s simples.
