It's something I've got an interest in more because of my father-in-law. He was a lifelong miner, went down the pit at 14 and stayed till he retired at 60, and he only retired due to Wearmouth pit closing. When he retired he done voluntary work for DMA, fighting cases for ex Miners to get the compensation they were entitled to. The Mrs is a proud "Coal Miners Daughter".
I basically have BB or BCS on a constant loop when I’m travelling or doing mundane things like ironing etc
Watched the first episode of The Penguin today. Brilliant first one. Absolutely outstanding version of Gotham so far. And it is just a super portrayal of The Penguin as well. Farrell has this absolutely nailed so far. Cant wait to see the rest. But I am a nerd for all things Batman.
Can't say I particularly liked the film but I watched that episode and thought it was tremendous. What a talent Farrell is. I sometimes forget that given the crap he made as a younger man.
I was never a fan of Farrell, I think it was his work with Yorgos Lanthimos that made he realise he's a quality actor and someone I liked a lot. Banshees of Inisherin too. I wasn't a fan of the recent Batman film either, think I watched half of it and bailed but his character was great.
Never seen it but it sounds like my sort of thing. That's another one with Brendan Gleeson isn't it, another top tier actor I hadn't really appreciated until relatively recently. Just reminded me Mr Mercedes has popped up on Amazon, great show. Think we were watching it on Disney and they whipped it off there with no warning before we could finish the first series.
The Batman. Not to be pedantic about it, I've been a huge comic fan since I was a kid and have collections that go back to the 60's
Been off work after an op on my knee. Got a partial return starting next week so hopefully I'll be all caught up for it.
