You seem obsessed with disliking ex-managers & blow up dolls. Is it because your mask wearing blow up dolls keep going down on you?
I didn't realise each team is entitled to chances and if Cardiff don't create them we're meant to make them for them and not criticise them.
We have certainly improved the last 2 games, and probably this openness at the back is something we might have to get used too. I guess it is trade-offs, Liam was more pragmatic but created very few chances, Walters way is ''heart attack football', certainly creates more chances and now goals are coming, but probably means defensively it is heart in the mouth football. Belloumi looks a real find, 2 great goals, but overall he is a handful. Coyle is Mr reliable, Mehlem had a good game with 2 assists, Bedia was a bit unlucky not to get a goal in open play. Omur is wasted on the wing, I cannot understand why Millar is not starting there, maybe he was being saved for the QPR game as I think Palmer was. McLaughlin was poor first half, improved second half, but I can see Hughes when fit taking over that spot. Pandur hasn't really put a foot wrong, and doing much better than I expected. All in all, a great occasion, great to see all the players from the past, hats off to the club for arranging a suitable celebration of the 120 years, and often is not always the case, but the team but on a result to finish the celebrations in a fitting way.
I don't really understand this constant line of 'the openness at the back is something we'll have to accept'. Someone trotted it out last week too. The openness at the back isn't what is leading to our goals so it's entirely unnecessary. In fact when we stop ****ing about and get it up the field quickly is actually when we look dangerous and should be doing more often.
The point is that the goals we are conceding are not from playing out from the back, they are when we are up the field attacking, and we are countered, hence why we become vulnerable at the back. Yes, I agree ideally the ball needs to go forward quicker, but teams, as Cardiff did, press used us high which often restricts this option, unless you aimlessly boot the ball up field.
He's scored in the cup, come close a few times, but his contribution today was excellent. 2 assists and unlucky not to score himself. He's just seen as a managers pick. Easy scapegoat. So has to do more to endear himself than most would. Bit like slater when he started. But obviously not 50k.
Both were reasonable shouts but you shouted for neither of those heads within a week of them finalising their actual squad of players to work with. Well minus the 2 who we've signed since, obviously. Still think it's 50/50 on whether his style is too naive for the competition he's in. But at least give it time.
Maybe he hasn't the 'heft' to share your experience with the critical issue of psi? Though I'm sure Vern has shared your pain at some point.
Who said it's something we "have to accept"? It's probably a feature of Walters style, but it'll have it's pros and cons like any other. Time will tell if it's successful in scoring more goals then them the majority of the time or not. You're so obviously desperate for it to fail so you can tell us you told us so it's just sad. But time will tell. Along with the competition. Not a laypersons understanding of raw, misappropriated statistics and certainly not you Arrogant prick.
Those suggesting that the last two games were easy are conveniently forgetting the standard of the league we are in, and the challenges of playing teams that have just sacked their managers. We passed both tests with flying colours and did so by coming from a goal behind. I won't get carried away but I think there is plenty to admire in these hard-fought victories.
I don’t think anyone’s suggesting they were easy games, all games in this league are tough. But getting results from those games was a bare minimum if we want to avoid a relegation battle this season. The scorelines suggest we passed the test with flying colours, the first half performance against stoke and the chances Cardiff created will rightly leave some doubt in people’s minds.
It was clear from the off that Cardiff were set up well today. One massive plus is that our fitness levels appeared to be way ahead of the opposition in the last two matches, Cardiff really needed to make that triple-change yesterday, as the game was literally running away from them.
It's a relief we can put away the crap teams so at least we will be away from relegation. Bedia showed a lot more yesterday which is encouraging as there's no point having great wingers and nobody central to take advantage of them. Maybe if the owner doesn't go down the Rosy sacking route at the end of the season then Walter might be able to consolidate on a midtable finish. I think the last two matches if we'd slipped up then he would have gone. I don't think Omur and Mehlem are good options to start against top half teams either.
Ben described Cardiff and Stoke as **** and Syd agreed with the former, hence my comment. I sometimes think I must have blinkers on though, as apart from the mistakes, I wasn't unhappy with the Sheff U performance and a few others. Yes, I wanted to see progress and I feel that we have.
