Fan fragility is pretty hilarious mind. Simply cannot hack a defeat. When we do manage to get promoted they’re gonna have to start putting SSRIs into the water supply.
If you aren’t mature enough to accept criticism of poor performances then you shouldn’t praise us/players when it’s good. It’s a two way street. Nobody is delighted at all people are just stating the obvious, but as per the local lad can do no wrong. He’s been way off for a while now it’s not just today, or the start of the season. It’s just been even worse his last 6 games.
Oh there are people over the moon Neil gave away a penalty, couldn't wait to hammer him. Sunderland fans need a target and Neil is this seasons.
Jeez....we lost. Some are going to vent. It's the folks whining at people venting that wind me up more
I'm saying he is the current target and unless he is 9 out of 10 every week l, he will be targeted. A bit like 09 is picked up on every thing where as other defenders get away with murder
I don't believe it is, every year we have a boo boy, been happening since moses first thought it was raining
Apparently he's our "weak link" now. The same whoppers will hang Chris Rigg out to dry after a couple of poor games (which he will have)
Logged out of twitter and tempted to do the same on here. When I was 15, losing would ruin my week. I'd blame everyone and be angry for days 30 years later I see it for what it is. Pissed off, but realistic. Film and a bottle of wine for me now...
Because in comparison to those around him, he’s the weak link. We all want Sunderland to be successful and some of us want us to improve quicker than others so frustrations are vented when we’re poor. But we haven’t been good enough for promotion two seasons in a row so to improve you steadily replace the weaker players in the team and I’m sorry to say it, but O’nien is the weakest starting defender we have. Ballard has been a bit ropey start of the season but he’s had international matches and an injury. He’s young and getting better every week, O’nien isn’t. So now if you look at the midfield who’s been the weak link? Rigg, to my surprise I’ll admit I thought he wasn’t ready, has been decent and is clearly going to be a very very good player who more than likely won’t be at Sunderland for very long. Bellingham pretty similar been decent so far and looks a cut above for his age but playing further ahead which leaves Neil.. do we replace Rigg or Neil in the midfield to potentially make it better? If Samed was to come in as the 6, who are you going to play as the 8? If it’s “targeting” anyone it’s based on nothing other than performances.
I've avoided twitter amd here is hard work, going to watch a film and have a few beers. Roll on Tuesday
I am going to disagree on the local lad bit mate. It reads to me like modern fans are much more excited and patient with lads from overseas. Same with coaches. Local lads, or English coaches, get grief first and last. Evidence how much support Adil gets, even now, despite being largely inefectual for us. Ba the same. Folk keen to keep giving them chances. I also dare say had Mowbray made those subs today the outrage would have been loud and clear. Just an opinion but I think evidence backs it up.
Chris Rigg was called out on here and needing a rest a couple of weeks ago. Human nature maybe, but we fans tend to let our emotions show after a defeat and it sometimes gets the better of our brains.
Just to make my stance clear, I've been saying since the start that the captaincy seemed to weigh heavily on Dan Neil. I don't think it's done him any favours and he's looked quiet and withdrawn. He's not a target and I'm gutted for him. But he's cost us points today, could've done the same against Burnley and his wild kick could've cost us against Boro. I don't need or want a target, I don't favour anyone based on where they're from ... end of story.
Im not sure of that mind. Ba has been called worse than sh*te pretty much the whole time he’s been here. Ekwah got hammered as if he was dreadful last season when he wasn’t at all. Patience should be required with someone moving half way across the world at the age of 19/20 especially into English football. We have signed some sh*te from overseas though. But in Neil’s case he’s nearly 23 now and doesn’t look to be getting any better he’s really struggling as the 6 so where would you go from here now that Rigg looks to be cementing his name on the team sheet mate?
I'd say mentioning o9 being weaker than outer other defenders at the minute is targeting, been our best defender this yr - not sure hes actually had a bad game yet O9 is improving week on week, yes he doesn't have the same upside as Ballard but this season he's been a lot better n is rightfully one of the 1st names on the teamsheet I know you don't rate hin as a CB but hes been quality this season
Competition for a start is a good thing means they are going to push each other and be at the top of thier game or face being benched.
