Will be a big test for him. There aren’t many minutes available for Neil further forward right now.

You may be right with this but surely he needs a chance, I don't think he should have the armbands and think he needs dropping together his head right

I wish someone would explain to me why pro footballers tackle with the wrong leg (the leg nearest to the player with the ball). Tackling with that leg, a foul is inevitable because you always make contact, tackling with the outside leg you can take the ball cleanly and not make contact with the player.

I think everything in context as we are still second top. Today was a game we should have got something out. I seen most of the first half live and wasn't happy not doing the high press. I could understand against Boro but today I felt we should have asserted ourselves on the game more. As I mentioned on a post on the Boro game Neil isn't floating my boat at the moment. I'm not saying he is a bad player but everyone has to play for their position regardless if there captain or not. With Neil there is certainly a mistake in him which I'm sure the other coaches know in the league. If he wants to further his career at a higher level he will have to cut this out or he will be found wanting...the Premier League is brutal for that. Games are coming thick and fast at the moment so we have a very short time to get a win against Derby on Tuesday and restore the feel good factor. We have a very young team and there will be inconsistencies like today but the overall feeling we shot ourselves in the foot today. Pleased Isidor got his first goal so that's a plus. Let's get the win Tuesday and bring on Leeds...HTL!!!

Worth saying that allowing young players to play through bad form to a fair extent is just something fans will have to get used to. It’s part of the bargain we strike to sign and retain these promising young players in the first place.

Out best fullback (cirkin) is horribly one footed, everything he does is lead by his left foot, yet he is considered a level above everyone

Oh and also, it’s nice to see a striker score on his first start, that’s exactly what you want for a strikers confidence

I am not talking about being one footed Chunk, I am talking about tackling. In my experience tackling doesn't depend on being right or left footed, it never made a difference to me. It's about taking the ball cleanly without making contact with the player and the easiest way of doing that is using your outside leg to lead with into the tackle.

I agree mate, but our best fullback gets into some horrible positions as he uses his left foot to tackle.

Cirkin along with others need to learn rhe at of a good tackle

Still delighted with the start we've made. Not sure anyone would've predicted the start we've had. 2 points per game usually gets you promoted, only 5 teams are meeting that level right now and only 3 are above it, which we are one of. We haven't been dominated and in both defeats I think we could've easily taken something from it.

Will be plenty ups and downs from now until May, just have to keep the downs to a minimum.

    Roll on Tuesday.

When has Cirkin made such an awful challenge in the box when the player he’s marking is going nowhere at all and has nobody anywhere near him to pass to? Making that tackle in the middle of the pitch, fair enough bad judgement.. but haway :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I just wish we could have a bit more balance in our fanbase. People slagging Dan Neil off for a single mistake, forgetting he was the lynchpin of our midfield for 2 years whilst learning on the job. All teams lose games of football, even the best ones lose games.

My post was a general comment about how Cirkin tackles only with his left foot.

Neil made an awful challenge, much tk the delight of some. I won't hang him for a mistake, unlike social media tonight
