It isn't so much his lack of ability on a budget. It's just his mindset. He seems to have quite a big impression of himself now, and spat his dummy out at Villa and left them in the lurch when he wasn't being given a big enough budget (despite previously spending a fortune). He might be okay with it now though. Viewpoints can change.
good appointment and Martin O'Neil has had enough time out of the game to come back fresh and raring to go
You wish.........Keep convincing yourself of that, right up to the moment we pass you, and order is restored
You'll struggle to find a supporter of any club MON has previously managed who doesn't wish he was still in charge.
CHUMPAR$E - do you actually know everything? You are full of so much sh7t, are you a toilet in disguise? Bart
Oh no, the world's stupidest person is back to dish out more words of wisdom which make absolutely no sense. I wish that O'Neill can manage on a budget? Well, I don't care really, but whatever makes you happy champ.
Jeff brownley was outside stadium, said we have latest new, anderson, chief sports writer with echo came on, just been told by club that oneil is new manager, contract agreed and doting i's and crossing t's. announce, ment within 2 hours or early tomorrow.
Very true. And earlier Mick I had said he was 5/2 on so not such good value now, unless the info has hardened, significantly increasing the probability. Re the budget comment. He took us from Non League to L1 (L2 then) in successive seasons and 3 victorious visits to Wembley, without a massive budget. It's his passion that brings out the best in the players.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm sensible, NOT!!! Obviously FILTH Obviously Obsessed with SAFC when his 2nd post is on this board. Now just f u c k o f f y o u p i e c e o f s c u m Bart
He did spend a lot of cash at Villa, but he bought Downing, Young, Milner, Delph so thats 40 million (ish) there, he also bought Dunne and Collins, who are still their CB partnership, for £10million for the pair So thats 50 million of it on 7 players, 3 have been sold for a profit, 1 has been plagued by a knee ligament problem and 2 are still stalwarts of their team. I couldnt even say he has bought anyone really duff either, not that i have watched Villa much, Heskey maybe, but he was only 2.5 million i believe, actually the only one that springs out is Curtis Davies for 8.8million, but i dont have a clue how he has done at Villa so he may have been a steel for all i know. (not that good saying as though he is with Brum now lol)
Syd, it said the contract needed the "t"'s crossing and the "i"'s dotting, that nothing had been signed and it pointed out that Sam Allardyce had been in a similar position and failed to sign. Too much euphoria way too soon.

Said previously MON was my first choice before Keane came. We needed his tactical and motivational skills then. Wasn't too sure about this time round after he allegedly knocked us back last time he was asked. To be honest after watching Bruce's total lack of tactical nous, this could be the perfect time for MON to take the club forward. This could be the best business the club has done in years, yep we have all bandied about big names who we would have liked, but would they have come for the long haul? MON has the chance to bring long awaited success to SAFC if he does come through the door. Have to say I'm amazed at all the comments about him spitting his dummy out and over spending at Villa. No one knows the actual reason for his leaving. I got the impression he left because the chairman at Villa was trying to cut his legs from underneath him. Wherever he has been he has always motivated players to excel themselves. Plus I have heard a rumour he knows what the left hand side of a football pitch is for.
