    I had to stop playing at 27 due to back and hamstring problems.

    Starts with the back and slowly works down to muscle injuries on the hamstring. He got the back injury on international break. He probably felt fine with a bit of a massage and said he was okay to play. Then it's the hamstring issue caused by overcorrection trying to protect the back.

    I managed to literally limp on for a couple of seasons by managing games and not playing too many, especially midweek ones.

    I get your point though. I also get Leeds playing him because the player says he is fine, it's difficult to diagnose back problems, it's very much a players intuition.

    I just think he could have been managed a bit more or had the common sense to take care of himself.

    I'm probably just pissed off that one of our better players got injured on international duty and looking for someone to blame. Israel seems the trend at the moment so I hopped on the bandwagon.

    Yeh I understand your point fella. It’s hard to criticise players for wanting to play whether it’s club or country… and it’s hard to manage niggles because for all the ‘science’ injury risk mitigation is just based on historical averages and rehab protocols. Everyone responds differently. Bad luck, poor game time management and rehab? Who knows. Annoying nonetheless.
