I loved the way he turned up drinking pints saying let's annoy them before the final...that's a bloke with a personality and a backbone.
To be fair to him I think he is a class man and very humble. To say what he did off the cuff fair play. I think Man City and us have a good relationship.
Probably but for now we are not. And never have been. I think this Eales news is also an opportunity. He’s obviously poorly and I hope he gets better. But maybe he still be part of things if he recovers. Lets hope he can help us recruit his successor.
Perfect scenario. Knows the club inside out, knows the other PL clubs board members, knows how the club operates, knows everyone at the club, has been offered the role before but can now do it without the worry of her own personal finances.
It’s a non brainer and the fact that she is invested emotionally is also cool. This has to happen. It would be like the next level Jesus rises from the ashes.
2.5 months ago, you were feeling positive about her going - suggesting it was time we made the step up. Not that I disagree with your opinion today, but if that was the case for you back in July, why would you now believe it to be a no-brainer to have her back?
To be fair, 2 and a half months of the players and Eddie looking like somebody stole their favourite toy is enough to change opinion in that time
Christ alive not for me - 3 out of the last 4 windows have been abysmal, the PSR debacle with Minteh in June was worse and she gave Howe free rein to do what he wants. I mean, look where that’s got us, paying £150k a week for Lloyd ****ing Kelly!! She does not strike me as having anywhere near enough nous to elevate a football club. Shes a financier, not a C-level football professional.
That's a bit short sighted for me. In fact it's very short sighted. The woman fought to buy this club. Put in a top class executive team. Negotiated 3 massive sponsorship deals, purchased Strawberry Place and had the insight to put a fan zone in there. Backed the manager to the hilt. Negotiated some pretty big transfers (including our club record one and last years player of the season). Over saw the club to it's first Wembley final in more than 2 decades, finished in the champions league, Brought the women's team into the club officially, backed them 100%, got them 2 successive promotions. Engaged with the fans, fully supported her staff. Increased the clubs annual takeover 3 fold. What more do you want ffs? A CEO doesn't need to deal with the football side of things. That's why there's a sporting director. Yes mistakes have been made but that's how people develop in their roles. Name me one person in the industry that has achieved more than her in less than 3 years in the role?
Quite simply because I thought we would improve. The fact is we have actually gone backwards in every aspect. Which suggests that she was doing a fantastic job. It’s ok to be wrong. I was wrong. Therapy helps.
