The Sky Blues only win of the season came on the opening day; a narrow 3-2 victory over recently promoted Oxford Utd. Since then two draws and successive home defeats against Norwich and Swansea City leave the 22/23 play off finalists under pressure. Leeds have not beaten Coventry City since David Somma's winner back in 2011, though to be fair they have only played each other four times since. Farke's side only managed a draw against them at Elland Road last season, and lost at the Coventry Building Society Arena 2-1; with Joel Piroe's 76th minute effort not being enough to cancel out goals from Ellis Simms and Haji Wright. Ao Tanaka is inching closer to his first start since joining the Whites last month. He is thought to be a more attacking option than Ilia Gruev who has been criticised this season for poor performances. Dan James and Max Wober remain side-lined with respective hamstring and thigh injuries. On loan signing Manor Solomon will miss the game too. The Israeli International has picked up a hamstring injury, linked to the back issue that forced him to miss the Cardiff game last week! We're not told the seriousness of this issue is, but is likely to keep benched for weeks! Coventry fans are awaiting news of Jamie Allen's serious-looking knee injury, with the 29-year-old forced off in the first half during the defeat to Swansea. The Sky Blues are moving towards a full-blow fitness crisis in midfield, although Ben Sheaf could return after injury. Raphael Borges Rodrigues continues to recover from a leg injury, with the Australian youngster yet to feature for his new employers since moving from the A-League over the summer.
Struijk has abductor issues. Probably the same issue he had last season. He hasn't trained today. Tomorrow is his last chance to train. Bamford has missed training sessions this week again due to injury. Wober will be out until the next international break. Solomon is still out for at least this game and the next. Dan James is also missing. Firpo is also a doubt and has missed training sessions this week. We might have to drop Ampadu to centre half and start Tanaka in midfield with Gruev. Byram or Schmidt could come in for Firpo.
Great update. 1. How the **** did Bamford get injured again? 2. Do we honestly believe Wober will play for the club again or will he be “injured” until January when he will be gone?
Me - Leeds United 1 - 1 Coventry City ChatGPT - Leeds United 2 - 0 Coventry City Google Gemini - Leeds United 1 - 1 Coventry City I did try asking both ChatGPT and Google Gemini for their predicted starting line ups, just to see how up to date they were on injury news. Let just say that between them they picked 7 players no longer at the club
In. CEnter pars Longford for the weekend. Back has gone and I can only walk about 40 metres at a time. Not sure if this year can get any ****tier
I know. They’ve a 16 x 8 screen. Daughter asked will they be showing Leeds. My reply they’d better not be
Not good on the injury front which isn't going to help but it gives someone else a pop.. I personally think Firpo will make it. I very much doubt Struijk will. Ive gave up with Bamford as a starting 11 player it's a joke now. We have carried him for 3 seasons now and still we persevere with his fitness I understand he would be hard to shift due to wages and his fitness but come on wake up. We have a raw number 9 and if he gets injured we are right up shyte creek. Soloman is another I worry about I just hope he doesn't miss more games than he plays but so far it's not looking good. I see Amps dropping back at CB and Gruev and Rothwell in the middle. Got to get back on track with our home form and even with some important players out I still think we will beat these I would really love to see us score a early goal. going for a 2-0.
I'm a bit disappointed in Solomon tbh. He's been out for around 9 months, Leeds pick him up and he is managed carefully here as we build his fitness, yet goes to play for Israel and plays 80 minutes one game and 90 minutes 3 days later. That's too much. He picks up a slight injury which turns in to a full blown one after 70 minutes back. He should have not gone and done more strength work here or at the very least told Israel that he can only play one game or somehow manage his minutes.
… perhaps emu… but if he had a slight injury maybe we shouldn’t have played him. In golfing parlance, if you hit your drive in the trees you take your medicine and chip out sideways. You don’t try and smash it forwards hoping to get lucky. Well that’s the theory. Never stopped me trying.
