That half should have shown us that Qarabag are not good enough to out-manoeuvre us in midfield and that they are very wasteful in front of goal. Another manager would instruct us to just manage the game, keep possession, keep it tight at the back and see things out.
He’s been well off it since probably the turn of the year. I think the main reason he was kept on over Bergvall though is the Swede’s fitness is very questionable at the moment, he doesn’t seem to have 90 mins in him, whereas Sarr can probably do 180, even if largely ineffective.
The ref has allowed them to kick Archie whenever they want. Would swap him for porro and sarr for maddison. Think Solanke has played really well, and Johnson is scaring them down his side...gonna be a long 2nd half though Crowd have been good
That first half was hilarious, don't think i have ever seen two give the ball to each other so much even in a full game plus extra time
It's also simply too easy to play against. Works against weaker sides but the better teams will just pick us off.
2 years ago, Sonny would have taken them on, or would have made a more positive pass. He's lacking confidence and dare I say it, maybe lacking a yard in pace?
Semi-basing it off of pre-season tbh mate, he looked knackered at times. Struggled as the game went on in the Cov game too. I think it might be a good year til we see the very best of him. Once he’s got that intensity and stamina though, he should be a very tasty player.
It's actually getting quite sad watching him. Like the actress you had a crush on as a teenager reaching an age when the botox doesn't help anymore.
