Thanks. It was a release in the end. Her body had long outlasted her mental competence (such as it was). Farewell and adieu
Same for my mum , to be honest, but kind of the reverse... She had a few mh issues in middle age, brought on in no small way by our family circs, but she had got through a lot of that, but then the body gave up in her '70's.... series of minor strokes, loss of eyesight.. and she just became reclusive. She had been such a bright intelligent woman that it was no life in the end. All so sad, but inevitable.
He's still alive, although God knows how!!! (So is Alan Price, but they definitely do not share Xmas cards!! ) https://www.loudersound.com/features/eric-burdon-interview-the-animals-war
Last night's gig was bloody brilliant. Frank Carter was the perfect choice to replace Lydon. Just looking at the face of Steve Jones...little wry smiles as Carter prepared to hurl himself into the crowd for the umpteenth time, laughing at some of his joshing with the crowd and his interplay with Cook and Matlock, showed that they were enjoying it as much (if not more) than the crowd (who were loving every second). I didn't hear a single moan, even when kick off was delayed by half an hour due to a serious medical emergency at the back of the venue. I hope the person is OK. Bumped into lots of Spurs fans on the way home, which was 'interesting ' given what we were wearing... A GREAT night.
He'd not forget seeing us, if he did. Mrs B had the thigh highs on again, with a micro tartan dress and I was wearing tartan trews and a PVC biker jacket, which a mate told me was very snazzy and has the added benefit of allowing cum to be wiped off easily. Very practical.
Not everyone's cup of tea I know, but this will be a fun gig! I was a big fan of both OCS and KS. Unfortunately, not sure I'll get a pass from the missus as I'm back in the UK for the Steve Wilson concert in May!
I saw OCS at a festival last summer, the first time in 19 years. They're very good...but not 'sleeping in the shed for a month good'.
Big news!!!!.... After the announcement of Oasis getting back together, U2 have just released PR shots for their latest tour!
One of my brother in laws went to one of these shows. Lydon was OK to begin with, but somebody had given him a bottle of brandy and he started drinking it. To cut a long story short, he's not a very entertaining drunk. People left in droves. He's a very interesting person, but he's prone to being unnecessarily unpleasant and sees the world solely as it affects him. I was bought his 'Anger is an Energy' book a couple of years ago. It remains, unmolested, on a book shelf in our lounge. I'll be back to Ireland, probably next summer, to include some gigs (definitely SLF at Custom House Square). I'd like to do a driving holiday.
