Howe is sly enough and wise enough to jump ship before his reputation is ruined. He'll see how the next 5 or 6 games go and if it's not going well he'll jump ship at the time the media are still bigging him up and saying Newcastle will be mad to sack him. He waited around for this job for years... he's not daft. He won't go out on his shield.
He thinks if he looks less foreign, Eddie might pick him. Rumours abound he's changed his name to Alex Toney.
Nothing wise about walking out given a sacking will net him about £8m. Like every single manager in history, he'll get sacked, the press will say Newcastle are mental and his stock will rise through sympathy before he gets the West Ham job.
There is when it comes to defeating the club... he will succeed in getting a new job possibly more money, saving his reputation and throwing the club under the bus all in one clean sweep. The alternative is to get sacked, like his reputation, end up at **** clubs on less money and give Mitchell and the club the last laugh.
Sorry mate but you're not in the real world with this comment. Like most managers, he has impenetrable self belief and one keen eye on the £££ he gets for being pushed. Besides which, they have agents like anyone else. I think Howe will have one eye on West Ham. Lopetegui's a dreadful manager, their squad on paper is decent and they'd really suit his 4-3-3. Takes him closer to home and is a natural step sideways. Also reckon, like here, he'd have a good spell there. He's not going to England and Man U want to appoint RvN in a succession model which is something Ashworth's a huge fan of.
Let's just see then shall we. Do you really think he'll stay here and go out on his shield? I don't mate.
I suppose we have to hope he can turn the ship around. The club seem to be doing nothing at the moment, so maybe he's just thinking **** this place ?
This is a whole other discussion, for me. We - the fans/public - have gotten far too used to immediacy and depth of available information, so when we can't see something we immediately assume it means nothing's happening. I absolutely promise you that anyone working for Yasir Al-Rumayyan who thinks they can get away with doing sweet f.a. is sadly very mistaken and going to be sacked. The small reports I've seen have Mitchell as conducting urgent and far-reaching reviews into the scouting network, positive interaction with the women's team, ongoing commercial discussions, huge plans for the stadium move, a new 17-yo signing from Georgia (Europe) today and rumours of heavy clear the air talks with Howe. It's absurd to suggest everyone's just sat around doing nothing!
So with all that's going on in the background, do you think something will materialise regarding the ground, training ground and sponsorships this year?
Yesterday's news really in it? 34 now and getting worse all the time and Tino playing now. No biggie.
Monday was an all time low and yesterday we were going to sell our best players and get relegated. Today has a lot to live up to.
Livramento has been poor so far mind... having said that I'm not sure any of them are playing well at the moment. The side being overhauled will be a massive problem for Howe.
