Which is we are better than we were 4 years ago. But not quite where we expected to be after 4 years. I have always said that until we grow the commercial revenue substantially we won’t be challenging. And we have done but not to the extent we could have done because of the PL. This week with the Man City case and sponsorship deals might change all that.
It is very odd we didn’t make any signings. Other than the ones we did. Makes me wonder whether FFP is hitting us harder than we thought. Or the money has dried up? Or the board don’t trust Howe? Or something else.
Yeah I think everyone was hoping Rodri was injured, cos he's like the best midfielder in the world. Not sure why any Newcastle fan would NOT want him injured...
Howe has kicked and squealed to get what he wants, but he's also wrapped himself up in a cocoon. He probably won't get to January.
Ashley was in charge. Bruce was manager. No investment. Second rate manager. Only one direction we were heading in.
This is true I think without the takeover we would be mid table championship fodder. I am of the opinion that we have progressed significantly since Howe took over. And maybe we need to take a couple of years like this start to the season for more progress. I may not like Howe as manager anymore but he has to be given credit for what he has done. But I just don’t see him as an elite manager. And he is too soft. Has to many favourites and seems to prefer team harmony and nice guys over quality.
**** me get him out before he does any more damage!! He wanted new contracts for Ritchie and Dummett.
