Agree with the sentiment, second half lineup should have been starting formation, however whilst they missed the opportunity to go 2-0 up, we also had chances before that also. Had Armstrong’s header gone in during the first half things would have been different also. Hopefully LM will be big enough and stop putting Twine wide left and move Bird back.
I thought Mehmeti actually had quite a good game but his poor finishing has to be a blot on his copy book. Mayulu looked good when I first saw him but has he gone off the boil and is not being played by Liam or is there another unknown factor involved? When Hirakawa came on I saw an uptick in our play and I think he will become a regular unless someone else decides not.
TBF - LM must see something in Mehmeti every day in training. IMO he flatters to deceive, he'll get the ball in a good position and rarely does anything with it eg the ball to Roberts from Yu for the penalty is a pass Mehmeti wouldn't make, he'd shoot. However he's the type of character, and probably why LM picks him that he'll score a 'worldie' sooner or later.
To be fair to him, he does have a go rather than just passing for the sake of.. needs to improve his technique in front of goal rather than blast it as hard as he can..
