I’ve just had this come through from the syndicate. I like the line ‘this has always been the target’. - I’ve backed it 11/2 money back if it finishes 2nd or 3rd.
The finalé at Plumpton ((16:50), a Class-5 Handicap Hurdle over an extended 2m4f on good-to-soft ground, is no easy nut to crack. Will take a chance with the Sulamani gelding, Sami Bear, who seems to have as decent a chance as any. Cheek-pieces on for the first time. Freddie Gordon (5) on board for the Chris Gordon yard. 11/2 (Betfred/BetUK) best price early-doors, on the ATR site
Zaynab off the mark at the first time of asking over hurdles at Listowel. The Bective Stud-owned half sister to Zanahiyr finished midfield in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot but looks one to keep on the right side of over hurdles as she readily accounted for Joseph O'Brien's dual hurdle scorer Teriferma (who was giving her 17lbs). That looked a decent juvenile hurdle for this time of year and the form could be worth following.
Quite surprised that those bookie chappies are going as big as 40's re Zaynab and the Triumph. Looks quite appealing that quote. One who hasn't currently got quotes but that you might want to have a look at in this division is Mina Rashid who has recently moved to Seven Barrows (from Andy Balding). Mina Rashid was a winner on the Flat, peak rated 89 and has this term been tried as highly as Group 1 and Group 2 level. Was surprisingly (given the madness of some of the prices currently being paid for similar stock) not a comparatively a big money buy - 45,000 gns at Tattersalls earlier this month. Mina Rashid currently has to be viewed as Interesting with a capital 'I'.
Think it must be Dandy G Boy in the 5:30 at Wolves? Best time figures, for what they're worth in such a weak race, certainly gives it a squeak. Might even be favourite?
