Rather surprisingly, we (the stripey people) have sold our full allocation of tickets for the game at Fratton. Staggered to be honest. Given the concerns raised over health and safety, and the fact it is only 1 week before Crimbo, my fellow Saints insist on being sat on a coach as part of police supervised convoy, though barricaded streets heading into Hampshire's equivalent of Beirut. I understand the convoy will be accompanied the whole way down the M27 and into Pompey by police helicopters, although Black Hawks and Apaches might be more appropriate. They could do with some of the boys from 22 regt to look after them on the ground as well. All the while, Sweep and I will be sitting comfortably at home watching it on the tellybox with a cold cerveza, away from all the missiles, nasty name-calling and hot-headedness of the Fratton faithful.
I used to live in a place which people joked was twinned with Beirut. There was also a road that intersected several neighbourhoods, which people referred to as the Gaza Strip. No, it wasn't Portsmouth. Or Southampton. Edit: Also "Wise men say only fools rush in". I guess that makes Southampton fans fools
I would respectufully suggest you put aside your obsession with the visit of your table topping neighbours & concern yourself with whether you are still likely to exist by February!
We are fans. Fans are not members of the board, we are not given the task of finding new investors/owners and we are told only what "they" want us to know or what they are compelled to tell us. Apart from buying tickets to the matches there is very little we can do about the situation - if there were we would To constantly think about the situation the club is in would inevitably drive us all nuts! NB "they" being the board, executive directors, FL etc.
You make it all sound one sided, but weren't you the ones causing all the trouble after we beat you 4-1 in your own back yard. Basically destroying a local garage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKU5JeQTWg4 Watch from about 7 minutes. You lot aren't as 'Saintly' as most of you think and sore losers too, expect much of the same come 18th December.
Put a sock in it till I die, I have been to many derby games and both sets of fans have idiots that look for trouble. I am just hoping football is the winner in this game and any trouble if any is kept marshalled by the boys in blue. It dos'nt always happen as the last meeting showed but may the best team win .
You speak as if it all Saints fans want to scrap. As you well know it isn't! We do have some idiots unfortunately and I truly hope they are arrested and sent down if they cause trouble. Pompey have a few as well all clubs do......these are not true football fans though as we all know. They will learn the same as generations before them!!
I was replying to the original article which suggests that all pompey fans want to cause trouble, just pointing out that there are troublemakers on both sides. You aren't as perfect as you all think you are.
