Anyone notice the ref bottling it, second half when Latte blatantly fouled Onien and was already on a yellow, i was at the opposite side of the stadium to be fair but looked a certain second yellow

Great that people joined in with the display.

I've also noticed that more people are staying the 90 minutes, more of the ground is singing and people are in the ground after the final whistle to applaud the players off the pitch. This mythical black hole of 'getting stuck in traffic' seems to be vanishing on Wearside, it's not the Bermuda Triangle ffs, you'll live through it <laugh>

I though the ref completely lost his head at times yesterday. Decision making was odd, there was one point where appeared to be pointing for a goal kick and a corner at the same time.

    Carrick is a prick.

He'll be sat at home today building a new trophy cabinet for his latest "possession cup"

The advantage then give the free kick after the Hume foul was a joke. Leah got the ball to where he wanted, then they gave it away to us. They ****ed up the advantage, not due to the foul in any way.
Yellow for me. Commentator said over the top of the ball, that’s because the lad stuck it through his legs and was just too quick and clever for him. He got him low down ind no studs showing (unlike Latthe Leah’s chest high one).

It's a comfortable yellow but no more than that. He was late, but it wasn't dangerous.

Beating a promotion favourite, however ugly, should still be celebrated.

We made them look poor as we did against Burnley. This was a real acid test as will the next game against Watford.

We have 5 games in October that's with an international break and us not playing for nearly two weeks, after that we can have a better idea of how well we are doing.

Time to clear up this tackle Mr Carrick, if yer reading the forum this morning ...

... I'm no expert but this was my renowned 'Sunday League' challenge where I'd win the ball fairly but firmly <laugh>

It looks horrendous but it's actually perfectly fair, I really can't believe so many pundits get it wrong.

They're bamboozled, like people watching a card trick, and follow Hume's left foot which, in reality, goes nowhere near the Boro player at all. Hume actually wins the ball with his thigh and it's his right knee that inadvertently impacts the ankle.

I doubt it's even a yellow, under the laws of the game tbh ...

... I swear I could hear Lee Cattermole sniggering in the studio :emoticon-0136-giggl

In real time it was such an obvious pen I was shouting at the tv and trying not to swear in front of the kids, looked softer in replays but that was because they don't capture momentum. If you push someone over in the box it's a pen and it certainly looked like one live. Ref bottled it imo.

It was a yellow for me, a strong yellow and edging towards a red because of how violent it appeared, but he was going for the ball, it was from the front and there was no hint of studs showing. Just a standard mis-timed tackle that deserved punishment but not with a straight red.

What a performance yesterday from the lads.Rigg, Bellingham and Mepham were all outstanding, in fact the whole team was but these three were the pick of the bunch. Dan Neil started again really nervy but by mid way through the 2nd half he was starting to picked up the pace. Those three midfielders man Rigg 17, Bellingham 18 and Old Man Neil 22 :emoticon-0137-clapp

On another note, that young lad Boro have from Liverpool looks a promising young talent.

Late to this thread as been floored with cold or whatever it is, was hoping to get there yesterday but whatever it is beat me and I resigned to the settee and watched us at home. Really enjoyed the game, Rigg is a dream of a player, Mepham looks a great addition and special mention to Jobe who is developing into an absolute beast, he seems to be all over the pitch. Thanks RTB another cracker

Atmosphere walking out the ground has been fantastic this season too, been years since I’ve saw chanting while walking back towards the metro, great place to be right now! Sorted my ticket for Derby and absolutely buzzing already

Read all the posts on the game with interest this morning, didn't post after the game as I was still buzzing from a brilliant performance.

Thought we absolutely dominated them all game, so organised and disciplined. Said to my dad after 10 minutes we had them and would win, they could still be playing g now and not scored.

Full credit to the coaches and the players for such a display, we mix up rock solid defence with lightning fast forward play.

Can't pick a singular man of the match, could be one of 4 or 5.

We really are onto something special with RLB and this squad

On the Clarke Mundle debate, they are different players both good in their own way. One area which is very different is the upper body strength, Mundle being strong and making more direct runs at defenders in the box which which will creat a different sort of chance to Clarkes trickery.

Mundle will not get as many free kicks or penalties as he just runs through tackles which would have seen Clarke go down, not because he dived but because he was always shifting his centre of balance to change direction.

    Both extremely good players .
