I think we controlled the game, but we controlled it out of possession not in possession, tactically RLB did not allow the team to be sucked into your game plan and made sure we stuck to our game plan. Don't think it was a great game but it was very tactical and I think that RLB just about got it right.
I guess everything is about opinions, for me I think DN is a very good CDM (although his last few games have not been great) and thought he had a solid game today. I guess it is not just about the tackling and physicality but also about the link up play and staying disciplined off the ball, the fact that you mentioned him taking the ball on the half turn is probably his biggest asset when playing as CDM as it allows him the space to play the forward passes which move us up the pitch. like I said opinions and perspective. Just my opinion on what I have seen so far.
Maybe I am in the minority but I did not think it was a red at all, yes he went in strong but was not out of control, it was mis-timed but not dangerous no studs up and not high and a yellow was correct result. Other decisions I could question as I think we had a case for possibly 3 penalties throughout the game and I do not think Boro were the better team I just think tactically RLB schooled Carrick on this occasion.
Thank the bairn on my behalf FTM - thanks to that link I was able to watch the game here in Australia. A good stable link too, no freezing or glitches
Good game. Jobe was immense and to think he's still a teenager. When a player makes the game look easy and effortless, you know they're good. Hume did a great number on their forward who lost interest after the tackle. How Conway wasn't booked is beyond me or Ailing. Ref was not the best. If we had Var we'd have had at least one penalty. Great team effort.
This is what a love about this team. Mephan Jobe Roberts O’Nein Rigg all of whom could have (and have been named by various people) as man of the match. mark of a team which is shining
My parents didn’t enjoy it on TV. I thought we played very well from the stands and enjoyed the game.
Apart from that header around 10 minutes that clipped the bar, I thought we were totally in control. The second half late on, they just couldnt get anywhere near to making Patterson, get out of his deckchair and put his pint down
Just a thought that at Plymouth we had 3 or 4 players not on their game and yesterday they were all bang at it. Just shows how tight the championship is, you have to go every game and give it the full 90 minutes. Thought we were excellent yesterday and RLB needs to take all the credit.
Anyone else watching that setup for the free-kick, and thinking Kieran Richardson v The Mags?? It just looked set for Paddy's left foot, top left corner.
