I think we as fans are also developing a more knowledgable approach, we can see these kids growing and yes they will have poor form /games but the direction is up .. they need us to be patient and supportive and so far thats what we've done …

Well that’s me home after a good sup and a Chinese ordered. Still laughing at my smoggy mate saying he’s lost all respect for us for how we play now. I’m glad. We were that “nice to watch” team under Mowbray that opposition respected because we dominated possession and lost whilst trying to dominate. Who gives a f*ck about that? We watch the lads to see them be the best team possible and if that means conceding possession to take 3 points then so be it. I don’t want to be that team people respect for playing good football, I want to be the team people envy because we win matches however possible. Sportsmanship gets you nowhere in this game.

Boro created absolutely nothing for the possession they had and that’s a credit to the defence and midfield. That was us last season, loads of the ball but sideways passing and poor in the final third. They should look at themselves instead of blaming our style of football.

I mentioned him earlier but mepham was the best player on the pitch for me. Never broke a sweat, looked cool and composed all game, won everything that was sent his way and seemed to read the game exceptionally well for someone that’s just came into the fold. O’nien could play further forward and I wasn’t nervous whatsoever having Mepham as the sweeper because you could see very early doors he reads the game well but he also deceptively quick and matched Lathh when required. This squad is more than good enough to be promoted imo if we stay on the right side of injuries, my only worry is losing one of the full backs.

Totally agree about Rigg. Just how many players would have the confidence to try a goal like that?

I have just watched the extended highlights, Boro didnt have a shot on target the whole game, and even more damning, half time 1-0 down and didnt manage a shot on target, pretty **** that

I cant remember which podcast it was, but one of them said in the South West corner, our injured players were in a box, and Alese was banging the hoardings and singing along to chants :)

anti football comments flying about, mostly from salty boro fans but what i'll say about is that we now have a coach who sets up to get the best out if his players and to challenge the other team.

Our press has been a strength so far this season, Carrick knew that and was trying to bait it from minute 1, we had the discipline to recognise it and for all the possession they had, we had a lot of control, very impressive, top to bottom.

Its the fact we dont try to do it all the time and act as a unit that is so impressive, the bloke beside me was keep saying we need to press them more, and I had to keep telling him, thats what they want, it leaves more space for them at the back if we try to press all the time
