You could see that comment coming a mile off. They had a load of the ball but just passed sideways one shot on target says it all Boro were absolutely clueless how to break us down
The whole Boro narrative before the game was about stats and xG and how unlucky they've been. They claim to have "dominated" games and been unlucky You can have all the possession in the world, but if you only ever pass sideways and don't shoot you won't win games. We were comfortably the better side.
They set the tone with the ridiculous play from kick off. Centre Half standing with foot on the ball, refusing to pass or move forward. They had lots of the ball, but never really threatened our goal - guilty of trying to walk the ball in. I'd be bored rigid watching that every week...
had a little snoop on their fans forum...picked out this gem. if he genuinely feels this he will be in for some disappointment this season, as I think Boro are as rank average as we have played. Loads of possession, does nothing with it.
If that was Reggies game plan they played it superbly. I however cannot handle letting teams come onto us like that, for all they were crap. Please lets just stop giving these small teams a chance and kill them off early.
I expected much more attacking wise from the mutants ,they do have good players(well apart from the defence which is dogshit) but Carrick has them playing awful football. We made them look poor, totally toothless. Mepham looks a great signing, Mundle excellent again and Rigg is the best talent Ive seen coming through for us in over 40 years going to games.
Wasn't pretty at times from us. Sat off and didn't press like we have done all season. But I firmly believe RLB completely out thought Carrick today. Difference was we set up to win the game. They set up to pass it around and look pretty. They have been doing it all season. Passing sideways is the easy bit. Goals win games
Couldn't agree more. What is really good to see is that we have a Head Coach with plans A, B and even C. Boro had no answer to our mid-block and solid defence.
I thought Boro shaded it first half, we struggled to pick up Azaz and Isiah Jones always seems to up his game against us. Second half they weren’t nearly as threatening and Mepham and Cirkin blunted their attacking threat. I thought Mundle was terrific again, so unlucky not to make it 4 in 4. Delighted to admit I was wrong about Bellingham as well, the lad has really kicked on this season and this number 8 role suits him down to the ground.
