I think the real problem is the two are linked. He stands by loyalty and effort above ability. He needs to be gone to get someone to properly sieve the **** out of this squad. How is Murphy and Burn still playing for a club allegedly aiming for top 4, whilst Tonali sits on the bench. Didn’t see or hear the match, genuinely couldn’t really be arsed, we just feel very turgid and flat. Are the players invested in this anymore?
Howe is trying to be too clever these days.... the side thinks it can just turn up and slowly build into games like a top side, but the blokes got players that are not good enough to carry that out. The thing we have to remember is that we're nowhere near a top 6 club and finishing 4th has actually been damaging to fans expectations This side isn't going to be finishing in the top 7..there's quite simply far too many sub grade players.
Results over the season so far have been fine, we got spanked by Fulham who are an OK side. But like, how we play, our transfer window, the noises coming from the club- They're all concerning. I just want something exciting, it's like having Keir Starmer running the club "its gonna get worse before it gets better" vibes. "no money in the pot" constantly. Ex-bournemouth manager hiring ex-bournemouth players.
Loyalty gets you no where in football, being ruthless does. Longstaff, Burn and Murphy should be no where near this first team. I saw 3 occasions Murphy couldn’t control the ball and let it out for a throw, killing our momentum. It’s the little things in matches what make a difference it’s like how pep always says “if the player doesn’t want to be here, he can go” no matter how important that player is.. ruthless. A winner.
I dont think Newcastle fans, overall, have too high expectations at all. In fact, I am concerned that Newcastle fans have quite honestly **** expectations and don't push the club at all.
I would say Howes still doing well tbh, but it's football and all it takes is 4 or 5 defeats and even the cult will start slipping in a few suggestions about replacements. On a separate note it's absolutely abundantly clear that Gordon was super excited to be joining pool and he doesn't want to be at the club...he's not the only one either.
Some and quite a few were talking Newcastle as top 4 candidates mind... I personally cannot understand why anyone would be saying that. There's some players in Newcastle's sides wouldn't even be taken on a free by the big clubs and that wouldn't get a game for them in 1000 years. I think I went 7th before a ball was kicked and I've not realised I'm delusional myself because there's easily 7 better sides.
No. I’ve already said, I’m out. I haven’t seen any of the game. That doesn’t stop me from commenting on the ridiculously OTT comments being posted. It doesn’t stop the excessively self entitlement oozing out of the comments. The stupidly extreme reaction being evident. It doesn’t sound as if we generally played well. It does sound as though we improved in the second half but obviously not enough. Howe obviously made changes at half time to try and impact which they did but again obviously not enough. Is Howe the worst manager we have ever had, no way. Does Howe have favourites, yes but then tell me a manager who hasn’t. Are the team the worst I’ve ever seen for us. Not by the proverbial country mile. Some of your comments show a complete lack of perspective. And before you regurgitate about how much money we have spent ask yourself how much all the other teams have spent. Also ask yourself what their starting off point was and what was ours when Howe took over. I’m not blind and I’ve watched football generally and us specifically for a lot of years. Have we played well this season, no. Have we played badly, no (over the season, not this specific game) It’s varied between the two. Do we have to panic, no. Should Howe be given time, yes. Will he be given time, yes but not long depending upon results.
Definitely but at that speed with that opportunity no one is passing it’s a simple finish. It’s just unfortunate. Schar miss which can happen to anyone and Popes blunder for their second goal were crucial but those two errors from two of our best players on the day weren’t the reason we lost. The rest of the team first half were the reason.
With the owners we have and the money we should be spending I just think top 6 should be the target and if they don't invest enough to achieve that the owners are to blame. Howe I've made myself clear on and won't just go on repeat about it. I don't think we should be ****ting the beds like, but there are obvious signs things are amiss.
